Good thread. I'm seeing some names here that had receded in my memory. Here's one that I think should belong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkXNEmtf9tk

reply

A bit of a one hit wonder; she’s still looking good at age 66.

reply

I agree. That's her one big hit but damn if that song and video don't just ooze sensuality. Sheryl Crow's name here made me think of her. It's that raspy, sexy, powerful voice they seem to have in common.

reply

It’s a super song - I’ll never understand why she didn’t achieve more success?

reply

Yeah, it's a curious thing. What a powerful voice.

So far you haven't commented on my Janis Joplin video. C'mon. I need your opinion on this today.

reply

Yes, she could certainly sing, but gone far too soon. What sort of career could she have had? Maybe a female Robert Plant in terms of success?

reply

Joan Jett actually halted a rehearsal once to give me an autograph. She gave me the once over like she really liked what she was looking at. Yup, I'm bragging a bit here. It's a slight claim to fame. I know that look in a woman's eyes. And they were big, dark, sultry, sexy eyes. And yeah, I wanted to touch her "there." 😁

reply

Joan Jett is a great suggestion.

reply

Have you ever seen her live? Back then she was Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

reply

I KNOW ANDY HAS...ANDY HAS SEEN THEM ALL👑....BUT I HAVE ONLY SEEN A FEW SHOWS AND JOAN JETT WAS ONE OF THEM....IT WAS AT ONE OF THE LOCAL NATIVE AMERICAN CASINOS....AND IT RAINED....ONLY A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE SHOWED UP....JOAN MOVED THE SHOW INSIDE TO THE BAR WITH A TINY STAGE AND PUT ON THE FULL SHOW....TEN FEET FROM US....IS WAS AWESOME.

reply

I was surprised at how petite she actually was, under five feet I think. A night with her after a concert! Now there's a sexual fantasy.

reply

Yes, I saw her supporting Queen in 1982 - she put on a great show.

reply

She was sporting her trademark look, tight jeans and red, Keds tennis shoes. https://www.deviantart.com/vampirose/art/Joan-Jett-The-Runaways-Shoes-316475802 Oh, she was a little hottie all right!

reply

Speaking of Sheryl Crow... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1zFnyEe3nE

reply

Stevie Nicks
Ann Wilson
Bonnie Raitt
Karen Carpenter
Linda Ronstadt

reply

Great lineup.

reply

Julie Andrews
Suzi Quattro (I like that choice, and she plays bass, so you get a musician in there too)
Ann Wilson
Aretha Franklin
Samantha Fish (she can sing in a rowdy style and rock out on the guitar)

reply

I wasn’t expecting Julie Andrews.

reply

I'm tired of "gender" everything

reply

It was merely a bit of fun. I’m a great admirer of women in Rock and wondered who would make a good lineup. No agenda intended.

reply

EXACTLY ONE JACKASS CARES.😉

reply

I WILL PLAY...DESPITE THE FACT THAT MANY WILL FIND FAULT IN MY CHOICES...FUCK EM.....I AM GOING WITH MODERN AND BREATHING ARTISTS.

BRODY DALLE

MILEY CYRUS

SHINGAI SHONIWA

AVRIL LAVIGNE

RENEE PHOENIX

reply

How did I forget Avril Lavine?

reply

Because you like to make things so complicated.

reply

C u l8r boi.

reply

MY LIST IS ONE OF A KIND...JUST LIKE ME.

reply

🤷🏻‍♀️😉

reply

Good question.

They're all singer/songwriter/musicians

All are veterans, all popular.

Keeping this in mind.....

Carole King

Chrissie Hynde

Joni Mitchell

Carly SImon

Ok, one out of the box choice - Janis Ian

You could make arguments for AImee Mann and SHeryl Crow.

reply

All good 👍

reply

I think I'll pick Chrissie, though they're all good choices and I'm tempted to pick Carole King.

reply

What would your lineup be?

reply

I don't know lol. I like too many ladies in music.

reply

Yeah, I could come up with a few lineups.
