Why was cyber bullying ever a thing?

Just turn off the computer and walk away. Go outside and smell some fresh air.

Signed, million man.

If only it was that easy! I mean, it’s good advice for adults, but for better or worse society has made mobile technology the main way teens (or even younger children) interact these days so switching off is like saying you can not see your friends or join in on their conversations. It’s a massive problem though and it kills me to see all these stories of kids taking their own lives because of savage cyber bullying.

I thank God I grew up prior to the digital age.

Because it's easy to cowardly bully someone from behind a computer where you can't see your victim and we live in a world where people care far too much about what other people think, especially in this world of getting "likes" and "hearts" on posts on social media and valuing oneself by what someone online thinks.

It's a cruel, cruel thing to do.

I'm very much in the habit of doing that. Just came back in from my front porch after one such break. My computer has been acting hinky lately, frustrating the hell out of me. So I go out there with my beer, prop up my legs on the porch railing and enjoy the wide expanse of sky in front of me if just for a few minutes. It's definitely a viable coping mechanism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=7ejj81Y2ZlM

in the proper world, "WORDS CAN NEVER HURT YOU"

but some fucked up parents put a stop to that and wrecked a whole generation of soft idiots now

I agree with you: shut off your social media, turn off the damn computer and grow a real life
