Is it possible to reason with aggressive people?

It's not possible to reason with anyone in an aggressive state. People should wait to talk about important things until they're calm.

Well, Shogun and I are now in a place where we're actually joking with each other again, after years of intense fighting. Go figure.

"All right man, just calm down, no problem, take it easy, it's ok"

Say this in a relaxed voice, the other person will mellow out. The key is, you keep your composure the entire time.

However, there are some who are nuts - I had one about a month ago while checking out. One has made it practice to use self checkout. However, at this particular store, the self checkout does not work. So, there is no choice, you have to deal with the person behind the register.

This girl was hostile, argumentative, I could tell within 30 seconds she was bananas. So, what did one do?

I started laughing. Soon the manager came over. SHe finished checking me out, I didn't say a word.

When I went outside to my car, the manager came outside and apologized. I haven't seen the nutty girl since.

ANyway, the point is, there was no reasoning with this girl - so I just laughed it off. No need for someone else's misery to ruin my sunny day.
