Today show rudeness

When I was a young man (I am 73 as of this post), news anchors and journalists respected each other. In interviews, they posed a question to the interviewee and then remained quiet so the person could answer the question.
People like Charles Kuralt and Walter Cronkite were respectful to fellow journalists and guests.
I have noticed a disturbing trend of hosts not letting the guest finish a sentence before they have to interject a thought of their own, as if to say "Your thought is less important than mine"
Nowhere is it more apparent than on "The Today Show".
Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie gush over EVERY guest they talk to, but in the same breath, make it hard for a guest (and even their own co-anchors) to finish their thought before they interrupt them to get their point across.
What has happened to good manners?
I think a lot of those media people need to brush up on their etiquette.

I can't stand people like that. They drive me crazy. My dad's like that, by the way. It's because of him I've learned how to hyper-concentrate on the subject, just to keep him from distracting me with his own two cents. He's been known to interrupt me many times, and it takes me 10 minutes longer to get a single sentence across than it would if he'd shut the hell up and listened for a change. Some other people listening in have even yelled at him over it, like mom yelling at him to let me talk, or I'd stop and forcefully tell him in a warning tone, "I'm not done yet." More than once I wished I had a magic spell that would forcefully shut his mouth so he couldn't talk at all, and forces his ears to hear me rather than just tune me out and interject his own talking subject into the conversation.

It seems the people in the news media not only have no patience whatsoever, they seem to be suffering from ADHD, have a very short attention span during interviews, aren't really listening and would rather steal the conversation for themselves, and have become extremely immature. There's a reason I don't watch talk shows in general. Most people in the media are idiots and nothing more than talking heads.

Been that way for at least the last 25 years.

This guy is such a class act and consummate professional, the exact opposite of what you're talking about. https://moviechat.org/nm1832175/Bret-Baier

Oh, I don't doubt that there are still some good journalists out there. Willie Geist is one. And he is a part of the Today show. I am not familiar with Bret Baier, but it's nice to know that there are still some who follow the path set down by journalists like Walter Cronkite and Charle Kuralt.

I'm aware of Willie Geist and agree. I get a good vibe from him. And I also agree on both Walter Cronkite and Charles Kuralt. I grew up with them. They were a reliable, daily staple of American life. I tune in to the Today show daily, often the first channel I go to in the morning. I usually stop after Today - The Third Hour because Today With Hoda & Jenny turns me off, mostly because of Hoda.
