Jill Taylor's a good pick; the family dynamic of her being the only woman in her immediate family of a husband and three growing boys turned young men does give her a unique challenge and perspective. If remembering correctly, she came from a military background in the show.

That makes a lot of sense; art imitating life. In one episode, Jill and Tim visit a military base. Having the chance to embark through a field of tanks, Tim attempts to drive and steer one, making a fool of himself.
