Funny thing is, at the time 'The Addams Family' first began as a comic strip in 'The New Yorker' during the 1930s, there really was nothing separating toys being marketed for adults and those being marketed for children. One such toy would be chemistry sets with fully functional exploding substances ready for experimentation, synthesis, and lab trials. This was before regulations were put into place after realizing how potentially dangerous they were.
