Have you ever worked as a waiter?

I haven't. I heard it's hard work. I did try writing a story about a waitress in Chicago.

reply

I worked as a busboy for a few months when I was about 15.

reply

Was it hard work?

reply

Not really hard just get the crap jobs to do. It was over 40 years ago.

reply

Yes. I don't recommend it.

Signed, million man.

reply

Yeah...seems like a tough job....

reply

Try doing Door Dash. You can make like 100 bucks in 3 hours. Rideshare driving sucks because people but you can make a little more.

Signed, million man.

reply

Ah, that's nice, but I have reservations about doing DoorDash. I unfortunately cannot share why though.

reply

Are you disabled? I've been wondering. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. Either way, you're a nice guy and I dig you.

Signed, million man.

reply

Nope.

Thanks!

reply

I think he's afraid he'll be tempted to eat the food. 🤣

reply

I've been tempted. Those Hooters chicken wings smelled so goooood.

Signed, million man.

reply

I bet plenty of these DoorDash meals get sampled before the customer ever sees them. 🤣

reply

Yep, it sucks especially if the people you are serving are out to be arseholes.

reply

Yeah I can see that.

reply

Never be rude to a waiter if you don't want something nasty slipped into your food.

reply

Yes, in my teens at a hotel. The work was very intense for a couple of hours at breakfast and again for dinner.

reply

Yeah I used to work casually as a waiter at a wedding reception centre while I was at school and I loved it, the patrons were always festive and friendly.

Then I worked at a restaurant in the city while I was at university and it SUCKED. Never again.

reply

No, I was always a dummy pumping gas, cutting lawns, changing oil under cars, I was a furniture moving guy…I’m pretty sure this is why my ankle and knee a are total shit show now.

Always earned cash money but it sort of beat me up.

I ain’t quitting anytime soon, there is a lot of money to be made out there!

reply

Hah, what a phony! Until now, it was always all about mowing grass and painting fences. All of a sudden, "a furniture moving guy" enters the resume. And you've repeatedly tried to accuse me of a "working class hero" schtick. I've worked at delivering furniture in two different towns. The second time, my boss had so much confidence in me, he sent me delivering washers & dryers and refrigerators by myself. You're a wannabe, a fuckin' joke. 🙄

reply

No, again your strange hatred for me betrays you. I don’t lie here, I like these posters and I deal fairly with them. I even worked at an auction house for many months, you probably won’t believe that either but it’s true. I started earning when I was thirteen, bought my first car before I could legally drive, drove that Mustang anyway

Fuck you shithead.

reply

No, and I don't think I have the temperament for it. I worked in retail while in high school, and that was bad enough.

reply

Let's hear from the cheapskate posters here who never tip their servers.
