Do you have any dietary restrictions?

I'd split dietary restrictions into several categories:

Ethical-based (e.g. animal rights or welfare, environmental concern)
Nutrition or Health-based (e.g. gluten free, low carb, no red meat)
Religious-based (e.g. kosher or halal)
Cultural-based (e.g. cultural taboos)
Other personal reasons

I'd say if I have any dietary restrictions they would be a mix of ethical, cultural, and personal (like not eating human meat for instance.)

The only thing I can thing of is that in sometimes eggs can make me feel ill. Not as an ingredient, but eggs as a meal.

I’m a big breakfast food person but I really don’t care for eggs.

Health based

I don't have any food allergies. But there are some things I won't eat. I tried a lamb chop once and liver once. That was enough for me! Both tasted awful. I found the lamb almost impossible to swallow, it was like chewing bubble gum.

Some things I just won't eat because I feel funny eating them, like deer meat. A lot of people are hunters around here and have tried to give me venison and I can't bring myself to eat it. I know many people love it. But I just can't eat it. And no, I'm not thinking of Bambi! I just never ate it growing up and I can't change now.

I don't like liver or lamb either.

I am a textual eater and there are things that I like the taste of but the texture will make me vomit, but I can puree that stuff and be happy with it. I will try anything at least once, as I've found that my tastes change over time. Things I used to not like, I now do.

I don't like to eat a lot of meat as my stomach doesn't like it that much, but I don't really have ethical issues with it. I have eaten a lot of different game meat. I don't hunt, but I know a lot of people who do.

Interesting thing about texture. I remember my biology teacher from 10th grade talking about that. She said that you would like the taste of some foods, but it's the texture that turns you off.

That's so true. I love eggs, but I cannot stand when the whites are runny. It's just too slimy.

My tastes have changed from childhood. I'd always pick out onions or tomatoes in a dish. Used to drive my mom crazy!
Now I cook with them all the time. Also, I could never drink milk. Just couldn't stand it. Now I sometimes like a cold glass of milk.

Still won't eat bananas though. I've always hated them and always will.

Same here. Funny story -

I can cook, but my older brother is a superb cook (and my oldest brother is a superb baker!), and one day my brother was hosting mom's birthday party and he laid out a gorgeous spread you wouldn't believe.

So I took some roast beef and it tasted rancid. I pulled my brother aside and told him the beef was rancid. He said it wasn't beef, it was lamb. I said "oh, in that case it's perfect"..

I know it's an acquired taste, and those raised on lamb probably think we're nuts. I never liked liver either, but that's about all I will NOT eat. I don't care for lobster but will eat it if there's nothing else.

That's funny. I had a case of "mistaken identity" the one time I ate liver. It was a total accident!

It was in college and I went to dinner with friends. The cafeteria had this habit of putting gravy on yesterday's leftovers and so I thought I was eating Salisbury steak. But it tasted weird. I was just nibbling on it.

My friend's boyfriend asked me, "Don't you like your liver?"

I almost spit the whole mouthful out on the table!!

Whenever I order Chinese food I always request extra MSG.

MSG gets a bad rap. If you have no issue with salt and no reaction to MSG, it's fine.

I minimized my sugar intake a few years ago and stopped drinking soda or eating food with added sugar.
