Pancakes or waffles: which do you like better?
π₯ or π§?
PANCAKES!

Waffles are a bit harder to make (at least, you need a waffle maker), making them more of a treat, so I will say waffles.
sharePancakes π₯ all the way! I make mine from scratch and use only real maple syrup on them, too. The syrup is always warm. I'll never understand folks who put cold syrup on warm pancakes. Yuck.
All my grandchildren love my pancakes. Most like chocolate-chip pancakes (me too!) and just last weekend we had butterscotch-chip pancakes. There are a couple of holdouts among my nine grandchildren that prefer plain pancakes and that's fine, too. We often have pancakes for dinner.
Chocolate chip pancakes. Those sound yummy! Especially homemade. Interesting about the warm syrup. I've always had it cold. Never thought of it to warm it.
Do you add butter to the top? I don't.

I use butter sometimes, but not always. If I have good butter on hand, I'll use it. If it's just standard fare, I skip it.
shareYou know people who keep their syrup in the refrigerator? That would be bad. Room temp syrup is fine for me though.
shareI keep mine in the fridge. Always have.
shareNo need. Bacteria can't grow in such a high content of sucrose. Do you buy commercial syrup? It will say on the bottle no need to refrigerate. So you pour cold syrup on your cakes? Think of your syrup like liquified sucrose. Do you store your bag of sugar in the fridge?
shareNo, I don't pour cold syrup on my pancakes. I heat up the syrup beforehand. Experts recommend refrigerating maple syrup after opening to maintain its quality and flavor. Also recommended is to store it in a glass container rather than a plastic one.
sharePancakes have more possibilities, both sweet and savory.
shareWaffles, but they have to be crispy.
shareAnything eaten at breakfast with syrup makes me nauseous. So neither. And French Toast is in that category too.
shareWaffles. I gotta have that crispy outer skin. Sometimes I make a batch of pancakes and then toast them in the toaster. Gets em good and crispy.
