Clue was fun and so was Battleship, and I had a cool game called Mystery Mansion that was pretty neat. The BEST imo was Axis And Allies.
I had a killer plan and usually chose to play Germany and the plan usually worked.

Great game, my son wants to try Axis And Allies and it's available on Amazon and Walmart fairly cheap, about 50 bucks, not bad.

Oh, and Dark Tower was really cool too, I won a few times.
The original run 1981 Dark Tower game goes for $300-$500 depending on condition and having all of the pieces.

Milton Bradley's "Game Master Series" also had "Shogun" and "Fortress America." I liked "Shogun" pretty well, I played it before I discovered A&A and never played "Shogun" again. Never played "Fortress America."

Another game I was really into was Avalon Hill's "Feudal."

Holy cow! I forgot about Feudal!
I'm surprised anybody remembers it LOL!
That was like a way more fun version of Chess, I really liked that game. I bought it used for cheap at a flea market and wore it out with my friends, fun times:)

I never played Shogun, but I do like the intricate games that require set up and planning and hours to play.
Stratego was a lot of fun too, I should have mentioned that one.

ALI AND I JUST PICKED UP A BATTLESHIP GAME SET IN SPACE...IT HAS THREE LEVELS TO PLACE YOUR SHIPS...HAVE NOT PLAYED IT YET...BUT IT LOOKS COOL.

I never heard of this version but I bet my boy and I would have a lot of fun with it.
I've got two kids, both in the weird teen ages, my girl is seventeen and can drive my car by herself and my boyo is sixteen and I'm teaching him to shoot. He's a real good shot.

I've read that a girl needs a good man as a father to inform her of what sort of person she might eventually pick as a partner. And a boy needs a handy dad so he knows how to fix stuff or the right guy to call. I think you are nailing it, I'm trying my best as well.

Love all of those, plus The Game of Life, Barbie Dream Date and this old one called Nightmare. It required watching a VHS tape and listening to a weird guy in a hooded cape basically play the games master while you tried to keep up with his instructions and the time on the tape and play at the same time. The pieces are all different coloured cross shaped gravestones and the characters are all in the vein of supernatural being, like witch, vampire, ghost etc. Awesome 90s game.

THOSE VHS GAMES WERE SO COOL...I NEVER HAD ONE...SO NOW I HUNT FOR THEM...WE HAVE TWO OR THREE.

My mother won it off the radio, way back when. Very good times.

It's still Monopoly but it's a very flawed game. I find it has diminishing rewards as I get older. Monopoly typically cuts a clear winner very early on. If you don't have good luck with the dice the first couple trips around the board, you're basically screwed. Disgruntled and frustrated players start making very stupid and irrational decisions just to get the hell out of the game. Which further disrupts gameplay. And then you're left with 2 people just duking it out for hours. Which shreds any kind of fun party dynamic in the group you have together. Also, doing math when you're drunk isn't fun.

My favorite board game is Monopoly but my favorite game was D&D/AD&D.

Me and the wife play a lot of PANDEMIC.

Me and a couple of buddies, including one guy with mobility issues, play a lot of online axis and allies.

Computerized versions of board games are great. The computer ends up taking care of all the bookkeeping and you get all the fun.
