What Was Your Last Earworm?

That's a song you can't get out of your head. You're humming it all the time for days.

Mine's is "Just the two of us". The first few bars make me feel nostalgic and sad. The lyrics are poetry.

Broken Hearted Me - Anne Murray

It was playing at the grocery store so it stuck in my head when I was driving home, re-stocking the pantry, cooking dinner…. Then EVERY TIME I made some food for the following 2 weeks. Make some coffee, Anne Murray…. Sandwich, Murray … snack, Murray…

I never heard this one. Beautiful voice.

I’ve watched this one, which includes a special Jason Statham dance, on repeat for weeks now. 😃

OMG! That song gave me a huge earworm last year. I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks.

The Doors' "People are Strange".

reply

That's one of my worse earworms because it repeatedly returns. 10/10

Out of left field comes this, and it's my current earworm:

There are worse...

I just had a 3-day visit from the family crew. Three of my seven grandchildren sang this over and over again. They're all huge fans of The Andy Griffith Show.

reply

Beautiful song and lyrics. The first time I paid attention to the words.

I grew up watching the show. Still do.

reply

I know, right? I still watch the show, too. It's a kind of comfort show. Barney (Don Knotts) makes that show. He's a hoot. A role he was born to play, I'd say.

reply

It's my comfort show, too. Plus "Leave It to Beaver", "The Waltons" and Star Trek: TNG".

The real Mayberry is Mt. Airy, N.C. where Griffith was born. I want to visit one day.

reply

Ah, yes, Mount Airy. Betty Lynn (Thelma Lou) retired to Mount Airy and lived there until she passed away in 2021.

reply

What a brilliant idea!

reply

Not my last one, but this one was stuck in my head for days. I even had it infiltrate my dreams

One with lyrics: Everything, Everywhere by Vaultboy ft eaJ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHXHQUVYNz8
One without lyrics: Luminary by Joel Sunny - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZY1f7E_2iFA

Both are pretty sad but beautiful, especially Luminary, it just takes me away to another world.
