I DON'T understand the hate against people who torrent movies.

I'd hazard a guess that if by some miracle you created something of value so much that others were willing to pay for it, you'd be hating on those cheap bastards who bypassed paying the freight to consume it just the same. But I don't think we'll ever be able to find out for sure...

So let me just also get this straight.

Even today, downloading is actually ILLEGAL, like, everything and for the most part, right? And yet, almost everybody or at least a lot of people have probably done it anyway. But what, they can imprison you for it?

And its actually an equivalent to if not outright STEALING, correct?

And more on THIS MATTER - it actually if discovered gets other people MAD at those guilty of it, correct? Like, they now morally have a right to think of such people as lesser human beings?

I've torrented things once in a while. It's hard to resist the temptation when money is tight sometimes. Saving some money by say, torrenting Queen's catalogue of albums, might let me have enough to save for something else I want, go to the movies, whatever.

I still pay for things more often than not though. I feel a little guilty pirating things. I do think there is something to be said for supporting not just the artists but the industry.

I only torrent in self defense.

I just got used to the ease and quality of streaming services, otherwise would download, no moral guilt at all. It's the kind of thing one just does and ironically doesn't share

Whilst I have no hate for people that torrent films, I do find your thread unnecessarily aggressive.
