What are your Biggest movie theater disappointments?

1. Batman and Robin -Corny and an awful Bane
2. Attack of the Clones- CGI and Bad Acting
3. The Chronicles of Riddick- boring
4. The Matrix: Reloaded- lame story
5. 28 days- it tried to hard at the drama.

Bonus: Endgame: I only went because my soldiers wanted to see it. I was done with marvel during phase 1.

Star Trek: Generations (1994) - I was a huge TNG and TOS fan at the time and this film was just cringe and unnecessary. The TOS crew had the perfect send-off in Undiscovered Country (1991) and then they made this drivel.

Hobbs & Shaw (2019) - I actually wasn't expecting much with this one; regardless, how could you possibly screw up an action-comedy with The Rock and Statham??? I don't know how but they did it.

Bad Boys for Life (2020) - This film really needed Michael Bay at the helm. IMO the Franchise was always Smith, Lawrence, and Bay behind the camera. It needed all three. It did have Joey Pants, so there is that.

I SLEPT THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF GENERATIONS AT THE THEATER...

I LOW KEY LOVE THOSE OTHER TWO THOUGH...BUT I DID NOT SEE THEM IN THE THEATER.

The Last Jedi.

AFTER THE MEH TO UGH OF THE FIRST THREE...YOU REALLY WENT TO THE THEATER TO VIEW THE CONCLUSION?

reply

Gandhi (1982) my grandma took me to see this when I was a small child. I thought it was going to be a kid’s movie, and I slept through the whole thing.

Faces of Death IV (1990) I went to see this with friends on LSD and it was too much so we left after 5 minutes. The rest of the night was fun.

The Thin Red Line (1998) I thought this was going to be a Saving Private Ryan style film and of course it was not. Years later I grew to appreciate it.

The Doors (1991) I was really disappointed in this and it just painted Morrison in a bad light.

THE THIN RED LINE STILL PISSES ME OFF...I'LL GIVE IT A FEW MORE YEARS.

reply

If it’s been since 1998 you really should give it another chance.

reply

YEAH...THAT'S ABOUT HOW LONG IT HAS BEEN...I DO OWN IT ON DVD THOUGH.

1. The sound of thunder (yup, I was there)

2. The happening
Don't understand how but the giraffe mic kept making sppearences, it was impossible to take this movie seriously

reply

DUDE...THE WIND IS VERY SCARY...IT'S LIKE GHOSTS OF WAVES.

reply

I saw the sound of thunder at a free screening in Edina MN. It was bad but the price did bother me.

Dunkirk. I expected a lot more, and the whole murdering the kid scene was just laying a turd on the floor.

Such an epic event deserved more of an epic treatment than it got, imo. Should have been more characters, more scope. CGI out the yingyang.

One thing I liked about it, they showed the French defenders holding the perimeter. The French get such a bad rap on WWII. Germany went feral, the rest of war-weary Europe, France & Britain included, quite reasonably weren't inclined to keep pace.

Should they have held out and seen Paris destroyed ? I don't think so.
