What time do you have to get up in the morning?

I'm retired and the best part of being retired is not having to set an alarm clock and needing to get up at a certain time. I usually get up around 8:30 or 9AM. I LOVE not having to set an alarm!! On the other hand, I'm a night owl, so I often don't hit the sack until 1 or 2AM. Sometimes, I hate that about myself. Early mornings can be lovely and inspiring.

Whenever. Usually not until after noon.

5:15 on workdays.

I’ve got a long drive to the city every morning and if I’m just a few minutes late and park on the wrong block the junkies will likely steal my car parts.

reply

Yikes! Not a good scenario.

19 homeless shelters and 2 dope addict clinics are in my work neighborhood…If I’m late to my job I blame myself, I know better. You get there an hour before the Custodian opens the yard for safe, fenced in parking or your car will likely get stripped by the worthless dope zombies out on the street.

Around 7am usually, although my cats love 5.49am on the dot lately, so they start pestering me around then every so often for food or attention.

reply

Take away your cats' watches and cover all your clocks! Simple! Yeah, right. My cats would jump on my bed and pull my hair at about five in the morning.

reply

Cheeky buggers, I love them though.

reply

5.55am every morning, wherever I am in the world.

You must be a professional at dealing with jet lag.

reply

I usually get a good sleep on the plane when flying long haul.

reply

Is there an art to sleeping on a plane?

reply

Fly business class, have a few pre-flight scoops in the lounge and enjoy getting a bed, lol.

Xanax...lots of Xanax.πŸ’Š

Disabled here, and in pain often so it depends. Got up at 5:30 am today though and that's how I prefer it. Love to be able to see the sunshine and enjoy the day rather than the night.

It was absolutely gorgeous around here this morning. No sunrise to observe, but the 5-6 inches of heavy wet snow coated everything - trees, houses, fences, cars, bushes, etc. - it looked like a white fairyland.

reply

Excellent. The older I get the more I appreciate all things nature. I get hypnotized by the stars, beautiful vistas etc. God's handiwork.

reply

I agree, and I feel the same way. Nature is beautiful.

Between 6:30 and 7:00 am. There have been some rare occasions where I've slept until 8:00 am on a weekend.

reply

Whew. The other day I slept until noon. But I was up the night before until well after 2AM.

reply

Seems to be around 7ish these dark Wintry mornings. I always mean to get up earlier and make use of the time but rarely succeed. It used to be a lot earlier in the bad old days when we went to the office to work.

I always mean to get up earlier than I do, but being retired, not having to set an alarm, πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

And I hope all those folks who want to stay on daylight saving time all year round will pay attention to what time that it really gets light out on these winter mornings. For us here, it's nearly 8AM, which would be 9AM if we stayed on year-round daylight saving time.

2:00, 4:00, 5:30, 7:00.

Crazy man! πŸ˜‰πŸ€

reply

Not on purpose. I can't stay asleep. I've always been this way. I have slept an entire night without waking up once, maybe 10 times in the last 5 years.

reply

I've had that problem since I was diagnosed with depression. Falling asleep was not a problem, but staying asleep was, followed by difficulty falling back asleep. I have medication I can take now, but it can lead to some really bizarre dreams.

reply

I would probably take sleeping pills, but I got some heart problems so I'm skeptical with medication unless sits something like Tylenol.
