is everyone here from old imdb?

Member of the old boards since 2004, what about you?

reply

I was on the IMDb boards ( purple_lemon ) from 2008 until they were closed in 2017.

reply

Really sad day I recall. I found it very comforting for some reason to visit those boards and reply to very old posts

reply

Yes Amazon committed an act of cultural vandalism when they deleted so much of the posting history. There are still some boards that have posts going back as far as 19 years ago but most of it is gone.

reply

CULTURAL VANDALISM?...LMAO...THE IMDB BOARDS?...THE LEVEL OF BANALITY AND VENOM POSTED ON IMDB WAS INSANE...MOVICHAT IS A SAFE SPACE COMPARATIVELY . NOEMOJI

reply

As usual Kowalski you don't know what you're talking about.

reply

REALLY?...I JOINED IMDB IN 2002...I RARELY POSTED BUT I READ A LOT...WHILE THE PLACE HAD IT'S BETTER CORNERS...IT WAS A NIGHTMARE OVERALL AND IT GOT WORSE AS THE YEARS FLOATED BY. NOEMOJI

reply

If you're talking about the Soapbox you're right. But there was a lot more to the IMDb boards than just the Soapbox.

reply

IT SPREAD...STARTED HERE AND THERE...BY THE END IT WAS EVERYWHERE. NOEMOJI

reply

Never argue with an idiot.

reply

I AGREE...THAT'S WHY I ALWAYS TALK AT YOU,NOT WITH YOU. NOEMOJI

reply

You don't talk Kowalski, you SHOUT !

reply

THEY DON'T MAKE LETTERS BIG ENOUGH TO ACCURATELY REPRESENT ME SHOUTING. NOEMOJI

reply

How about BOLD IN CAPS?

reply

OOOH...I DO LIKE THE LOOKS OF THAT...I RUN MY MOUTH TOO MUCH TO FORMAT EVERY POST THOUGH. NOEMOJI

reply

It's dead Jim!!

reply

HAPPY RIP !!

reply

I was on the old boards.

reply

I posted on the imdb boards from about 2013 until they closed and then came here. Some people on here never posted on imdb and just joined Moviechat directly.

reply

YOU'RE WELCOME. NOEMOJI

reply

Cool to know new people are joining, I feels like "the comment section" is such an important an unique feature of the internet

reply

I feel disappointed now if i'm on a web page e.g. news maybe , and there isnt a comment section!
.. and then places where there is a comment section i always end up thinking "why am i reading all these idiotic , all the same , comments?"

Or even worse:
Why to bother with a reply? 👼

Yah, member since 2001. I was a regular on Seinfeld and Upstairs, Downstairs boards.

You might enjoy Keeping Up Appearances from the early to mid 90s. It’s a BritCom about a henpecking woman who Lords it over her entire family and neighborhood played by English actress Samantha Routledge…she’s just an hilariously terrible person and much like Archie Bunker she always winds up the fool.

Great, hilarious stuff👍

reply

I'll check it out, but...the only British humor I've ever been able to get into is Monty Python. We'll just have to see!

reply

Python is a classic, I agree.

reply

My mom was a big fan of that show.

A FEW OF THESE DUDES ARE LEFT OVER FROM THE ROOSEVELT ADMINISTRATION. NOEMOJI

reply

And just like FDR they only fear the self mutilation of skin itself.

reply

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH SKIN COST BACK THEN?...DAMN KIDS THESE DAYS...JUST DO NOT UNDERSTAND...IT'S LIKE INSTALLING INDOOR PLUMBING IN YOUR HOUSE...IT JUST RUINS THE STRUCTURE AND IS SO EXPENSIVE TO HAVE REMOVED. NOEMOJI

reply

I was on the IMDb boards (a lot) from about 2010 - 2017, when they closed. Mainly horror and CBMs.

reply

Wow 2000, that is ANCIENT

reply

I never really posted on the IMDB boards. Only a handful of topics, I was more of a lurker. I've posted on here way, way more.

reply

I opened an account on IMDb sometime around 2002, then moved here and to a couple of other sites once Scamazon shut down the message boards. This is the only site I frequent since the other two never really took off.
