Pepsi vs. Coca-Cola

I don't drink soda that much, so I don't have a strong opinion at all about this competition. But I am fascinated by the history of this soda war, and I have several family and acquaintances that are semi-addicted to these caffeinated drinks

So pepsi or coke, and why?

reply

I prefer Coke, it seems more carbonated than Pepsi to me, giving it a better "bite."

Yeah, it's got more kick.

reply

I like RC Cola.

reply

I've never tried it, but it has always piqued my curiosity

reply

That's better than Pepsi, and as I try to remember, almost as good as Coke. Drink Diet everybody, for your health!

reply

On the rare occasions I have cola I always go for Diet Coke.

reply

How do you feel about diet pepsi?

reply

It's okay, but I don't find it as refreshing.

reply

You're a cokeman then *jots data down*

reply

Happy to help with the market research!

Pepsi has a stronger cola flavour in my opinion. I’ll drink either one though.

reply

First Pepsi on the tally

reply

Coke will probably win. Back in the 80's and 90's I would avoid Pepsi but later started to prefer it. Coke does have more fizz though. It's hard to find but in Australia we have Bundaberg Cola Beer which is even better and has a very strong cola taste.

reply

Coke's the one.

reply

3-1-1 is the current score.

3 coke
1 RC cola
1 pepsi

Tbh I wonder how much marketing has played a role in this outcome. As an impartial drinker I feel like Coke has no tangible advantages over Pepsi

reply

Pepsi marketing worked against itself for me in the 80's, they liked using a lot of stars which I didn't really like or wasn't crazy about. Coke was always cooler as it didn't have to try as hard.

reply

I rarely drink soda, but I prefer pepsi over coke. Pepsi Max tastes best to me.
