Pepsi vs. Coca-Cola

I don't drink soda that much, so I don't have a strong opinion at all about this competition. But I am fascinated by the history of this soda war, and I have several family and acquaintances that are semi-addicted to these caffeinated drinks

So pepsi or coke, and why?

reply

I havent had a pepsi in decades. Coke all the way. Taste better

reply

I'll drink either. Pepsi is sweeter but coke seems to be more carbonated. And I do the diet versions.

reply

COKE!!!

Because I'm addicted to Diet Coke. Pepsi doesn't satisfy the cravings, although Dr. Pepper does.

reply

What about Mr. Pibb? 🤔

reply

Not widely available in my area.

And it doesn't do to get addicted to something scarce.

reply

I only drink it with vodka, but I always make sure it’s either: -
Pepsi Max
Diet Coke/Coke Light
Coke Zero

I’ll drink whatever’s available.

reply

Coke. I've always considered Pepsi to be Coke Jr.

reply

It must be regional because I’ve only known a couple of Pepsi drinkers in my life. People drink so much Coke around here, when someone says “Do you want a Coke?” it usually means do you want a soft drink.

reply

Latinos often call sodas "coca". It's a pretty common thing. Coke is an extremely dominant brand, which is why I find it amusing that Pepsi briefly had it on the ropes in the 80s

reply

Taste the same to me.

reply

I prefer Coke to Pepsi but it's more than just taste. I started to dislike Pepsi during the Pepsi Taste Challenge. I don't really know why I didn't like that type of advertising, I just didn't. I also think that coke has way better merchandising.

I do drink wild cherry pepsi, but that's because cherry coke is so hard to find where I am. We rarely get it.

reply

I've always preferred Pepsi. But when they had the Pepsi Challenge set up one time at a local mall, I ended up choosing Coke. Go figure.

reply

I always chose coke as well, so that's why I know I prefer the taste of coke.
