Why aren't front doors built to withstand police ramming bars?

If the whole door locked into a concrete outter rim, like a safe door, they're not getting in.

Or even a bar placed in front of the door.

Yet nobody actually secures their front door.

A good shoulder barge will break a front door.

It's crazy.

Is this a niche business opportunity? Actual front doors that lock and are secure?

I'd be more concerned about burglaries or home invasions than the police, but you're right in principle. Many people have front doors that can be easily breached.

you should build a panic room.

Ideally, a door that can't be rammed, a panic room, and...escape tunnel under house.

Ahh, the El Chapo strategy that eventually failed.

and a chopper out back for a quick escape.

Nice.

I thought you were trying to be better????

It should be plainly evident by now that he backpedals to more neutral topics in a feeble attempt to accrue a more favorable reputation before veering back into the contentious slop that attracts ire from regular posters along with soft support from a handful of users who routinely respond to any topic designed to sow discord.

At this point, any post he makes deserves personal disdain and derision until he comes clean with a formal apology and backs it up with truly reforming his board conduct.

Shhh you are a cretin.

Why...You actually have interesting thoughts, can't you distill them into a normal post.

reply

Because the police know the magic words

Yes, they will. Even if you didn't have any doors or windows at all they could cut a hole in the wall and come in. The best you can do is slow them down; it's impossible to prevent a well-equipped force from entering indefinitely. There's no material on Earth that can't be cut/destroyed/broken with e.g., an oxy-acetylene cutting torch, plasma cutter, angle grinder, explosives, blunt force, etc.

A sturdy door / frame / latching/locking mechanism might buy you a few extra minutes at best.

The sturdiest, most impenetrable structure I can think of would be made out of crushed/cubed cars, all stacked and welded together, but who has a building made out of something like that? In nearly all cases, no matter how sturdy your door & frame are, the rest of the building is a weak link.

Instead of wasting money on a stronger door do something more sensible and use an escape rocket like Dr. Evil.
