maybe "demons" really exist. but aren't measurable with current known sciences.

DEMON: an evil spirit or devil, especially one thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor in hell.

this isn't about proving any spirit realm, we all know we can't. that doesn't mean things beyond our ability to prove them don't exist. bibically, demons would "possess" people, be INSIDE them, and those people did bad things.

today, we run with "mental illness", because that is definable within current sciences and psychologies.

So, lets say, you have wrong moving chemicals, mussing up your brain... you can't see the world properly and do WEIRD things: because your brain us muxxed, you like throwing things to the right side of the room. or maybe you spin, or waggle your arms around alot. maybe you stick a fork into your arm sometimes, or talk gibberish.

random firing neurons can cause your body to react improperly compared to a normally functioning and controlled body.

I don't recall ever seeing a failing brain controller randomly design and build a new pocket watch, create great music or write a well planned out novel...

...yet, we get to hear how someone with mentle issues has meticulously gathered weapons, ammo, drawn plans, and timing out a killing spree, only to then kill themselves afterwards. that doesn't sound so mental to me, but quite intelligent and planned out.

Of course, current science and catalogging ONLY allows us to peg things in the known, and not the supersitious or spiritual or guesswork, thus, someone is mentally ill, not "possessed". And yet they are possessed by thoughts that allows them to act normally, while meticulously planning a horrific event.

why is mental illness of someone pounding their hand with a hammer, the same as mental illness of a well planned shooter? people will claim "affects everyone different", ok.... when are these mental people ever doing anything astounding with their mental issues? where's the mental people that randomly chop down trees and make fire wood, or can't stop cleaning house (ok that probably exists), or knitting?

think of how many times you read something where someone shot people, then killed themselves.

maybe there is more in the subatomic/quantum realms than we really know about. maybe nad spirits exist, know EXACTLY what they are doing, and how to hide behind known sciences.
maybe demons truly exist.

I enjoy the fiction of sleeper agents being controlled by the nefarious government hidden agenda, but don't you think they could do some many better things with mind control if is really worked?

I think ultra flopped but they are getting much further with AI, internet, and media than any mind control ever before. :)

how do we know they're not? ;)
how do we know these chemical imbalances are not caused by an outside force?
because science detected a change in the chemicals pushing through the body?
what causes a chemical change that says "plan this out, kill a bunch of people, then kill yourself"?

I was speaking from a historical perspective, not a spiritual/philosophical one. But you do bring up some interesting questions.

If there is demonic activity going on in the world, it's being done more so through influencing, rather than outright possession. It doesn't help that humans are naturally capable of doing great good or great evil. Influence someone in a dark enough direction, and you can even turn a saint into a murderer.

In fantasy stories, demons (and sometimes even humans practicing dark magic) would possess someone so they could use that person to do or obtain something they themselves could not do on their own. What purpose would a demon have to possess a person with a genetic disorder that messes up their brain? It would be pointless to possess that person because they would become useless. Even if the demon was attempting to punish someone else through their epileptic host, their influence would be nullified through medication or surgery.

It would make more sense for demons to take on a subtle role in present times. Outright possessing someone in power is too obvious, even in today's society. Possessing someone in the shadows that is never seen, and yet has the trust of someone in power would be where a demon would go, if such beings existed. It should also be noted that in most stories, demons can't possess someone against their will. They have to be invited into the mind and body of their host. They also can't possess genuine Christians; at least, according to the lore.

Theyre not. Doctors classify them differently.

I'd like to see better scientific research about the supernatural. Most scientists don't go near the topic. Open-minded scientists studying people who claim they can have out-of-body experiences would be a good start. Let's prove or disprove it.

prove or disprove based on our current technology? how can we?

we can't even fully grasp the brain yet.
maybe when we get dream recording down, we'll get some info - is out of body real or mentally made up? even recording it, won't tell us if it is real or brain imagined based on stored life experience made up fictional activity.... or planted there based on outside information.

maybe our brains are connected at some quantum level we just don't grasp yet.... like how microwave broadcast antennas work to primative tribesmen showing them pictures and video from elsewhere... maybe our quantum brains CAN get interrupted by an outside force and manipulated to their nefarious deeds

not being able to prove something within our current realm of science does not DIS prove it

Not technology. Experimentation. One example would be to place an object on a table in a locked room. Test the out-of-body subject for accuracy.

How do people know when another person is staring at them from behind? Or a "feeling" that someone is going to call moments before they do. That must be some form of communication.

Dr. Robert Lanza, Dr. Dean Radin and others believe in a link between quantum physics and consciousness.

agreed. and if something we might call our "conscious" can exist in a quantum realm, why not have that be a "soul", and maybe other evil souls can invade someone - giving specific instructions... "my dog told me to do it..." etc

then again, im sure many people don't believe QUANTUM anything exists, but science is slowly starting to find out about all that

The lethally antisocial are born in some cases, made in others, sometimes a combination. There is also the imitative aspect, where bad patterns are replicated, in some aspect due to the positive reinforcement of notoriety.

No need to get all medieval about it. Some people do great evil, its a fact of life. With 6 billion around, many poorly raised & tended to during their formation, thats more than a few bad apples.

I find the 'shooter' mentality interesting. Serial Killers aren't vogue right now, with GPS tracking, cameras everywhere and the advancements of DNA techonology it's very hard to pull off. Reading about some SKs back in the 70s and 80s is crazy. The amount of people they killed before getting caught (with many suspecting that the true numbers in most cases far exceed those attributed to them.) I've seen some people speculate that those who would have been modern SKs are now becoming shooters due to the difficulties in serial killing. I'm not sure I agree.

Shooters have a few things in common. They're almost always Male, young and social outcasts to a certain extent (loners, weirdos). The oldschool SKs were different they seemed much more integrated into society (not all, some were absolute shit for brain retards). Your Bundys, Dahmers, Ramirezs, Raders, Gacys, DeAngelos are just different from this new dweeby shooter. They could hold jobs, they had relationships, some even married and raised kids, they were members of society. They could do interviews in prison and speak confidently. They were also much more depraved and sadistic. Fucking cannibalism, necrophilia and the likes. Sick in the head.

These shooters often look the sorts who probably couldn't even sexually assault somone if they wanted to, they wouldn't be cut out for it. They'd have an anxiety attack and get impotence. So many of them are little scruffy looking rodents.

SKs loved hurting people and wanted to keep doing so undetected. Shooters give up on life and basically decide to end themselves and since they're mad at the world they decide to cause as much harm and suffering on their way out. A sick bitterness.

They're completely different breeds. As awful as it is to hear about Shooters killing kids, SKs would snatch them off the steets, sexually assault them, decapitate them, then have return to have sex with their corpse. A lot more personal and brutal than pulling a trigger.

As for the causes. You just have to look at the common factors.

They're almost always young, lonely Males who are introverted and strange. They often spend a lot of time online in toxic communities. We can't blame the internet but these people often have no/few friends and their choice of internet companionship is telling. A bunch of bitter, mad at the world, conspiracy believing dweebs. They often spend time on weird and morbid sites from what I gather. Toxic entertainment.

Mental illness is definitely a factor. It's part of what causes them to be on the fringes of society. They're introverted, anxiety ridden and often have slightly morbid/strange interests. I'm not one for phrenology. But most of them just legitimately look borderline retarded.

They're often bullied. Some people would have you believe that these are angels who get teased and then go postal. I wouldn't agree. Unfortunately the reason they get bullied is often due to the underlying mental issues. They radiate non-neurotypical energy and other kids pick up on the fact that they're 'weird' and that's why the bullying becomes so intense and all encompassing. Society is cruel and people who aren't 'normal' socially or mentally get ostracized. Some other users have noted how these people often have no relationships. Unfortunately due to their mental dynamics getting never mind maintaining a relationship is practically impossible. They're just not cut out for social interactions. Women detect their 'weirdness' right of the bat and run for the hills. They just give people the creeps.

The reason it's only Men is easily explained. Men are just more violent than Women. It's hormonal in nature. Also due to differences in how Men and Women experience society. A Woman with these mental traits can often get swooped up and looked after by an every day Joe. No Woman is coming to look after these dudes, they're left to fend for themselves. If some Woman became a mommy figure for them and took them in and made them their din-dins and slept with them every now and then whilst putting up with their incompetence and bullshit they'd probably not flip but as I said society is different for Men and Women and that shit ain't ever happening.

What can be done about it? Fuck knows. Taking away their access to firearms will definitely make it more difficult for them to arm themselves for their final fuck you to the world. Aside from that we'd need extensive mental health checks and superior to present understanding and treatment. How you take someone who is asocial by nature and make them a social butterfly and fix all their mental hangups is beyond me. I don't think it's possible.

So buckle up because these dudes ain't done. More and more young, lonely, mad at the world Men are gonna' take out innocents on their way out.

To further the only Male reasoning.

By most accounts Men have a much greater need and desire for physical intimacy so the lack there-of hits them harder. Also Men are more introverted than Women by nature, they use less words per day, their conversions are shorter and different. They seek and receive less reassurance from others socially. They bottle up their emotions as to display them is weak, which is frowned upon.

Autism spectrum disorders are much more common in Men. Whether that's because it's simply a largely Male disorder or it's not picked up as easily in Women is another matter for debate but goes back to the fact Men are just inherently less social than Women, add in autism spectrum issues and these dudes are just the bottom percentile of people socially. Women perhaps have it as often as Men but they take less of a hit and simply degrade to typical Male levels of socializing, so no one catches on. Lmao.

But seriously. Autism spectrum issues seem prevalent in these guys. It explains the asocialness and the weird vibes. Other disorders like Schizoid Personality Disorder seems common in these shooters.

They're all mentally ill and Americas ease of firearm access gives them the firepower to lash out at everyone when they've finally given up on life.

You raise many interesting points, I’ve read a good deal about this stuff, ‘true crime’ being a big reading interest of mine.

As bad as they are we can all recognize a human motive for why Mafia killers or street gang members act like they do, sure, some of them are likely insane but most of those murders are profit-oriented or to ‘hush’ a guy that may be talking too much.
Obviously terrible crimes but understandable from an average criminal point of view.

The diversity of backgrounds amongst serial killers is pretty confusing. Dahmer and Baumeister reportedly had fairly normal upbringings and just slid off the rails for no obvious reason. O’toole, Lucas, Gacy and Sowell allegedly had disasterous childhood surroundings.
There seems to be no obvious pattern for a lot of their backgrounds.

Mass shooters do seem a totally different breed. For lack of a better word their attacks lack ‘intimacy’ with the victims and by that I mean it’s not a ‘hands-on’ crime. I doubt a man that is compelled to strangle a dozen prostitutes to death with his bare hands is likely to pick up a rifle and kill long-distance for instance.

I’ve read about the theory that spree shooters are the new serial killers because a ‘blaze of glory’ situation is easier to pull off than a prolonged series of murders these days but I don’t know…I suppose the experts will be studying and debating these issues for a very long time.

Hopefully ‘the experts’ figure out how to put a lot of violent men in steel cages sooner than later.

SKs are a bit all over the place but one thing so many have in common is the sexual element. All the homosexual ones kill Men whilst all the heterosexual ones kill Women. They almost always kill who they're sexually attracted to. Add in some morbid, depraved interests and extreme forms of sexual sadism and you get your typical SK. You do get different types of SKs of course, but the sexually sadistic one is the default in my mind.

Serial rapists and domestic abusers would probably have more in common with SKs than shooters do. They just lack that lust for blood. They're like the lite version of the full blown mania that consumes SKs.

These shooters from what I see just seem so timid, quiet and on the fringes. I can't picture any of them doing what Joseph DeAngelo did (nor getting married and raising kids like he did, or even working as a Police Officer). They're just a different kettle of fish. As I said I don't think these dudes could even sexually assault someone. They seem like they can barely function socially until they give up and go postal, running on adrenaline for an hour or two before rage quitting on life.

SKs fear being caught. They want to remain hidden and to keep committing their crimes. These shooters know all to well it's game over. It's suicide accompanied by mass homicide. That's the one major thing. They've completely given up on life, their depression, hopelessness and bitterness at the world is extreme. SKs love what they do, through their extreme sadism. These shooters don't seem to enjoy it I don't think, it's just their way of being an absolute cunt in an act of 'revenge'.

Most of these shooters will shoot anyone they come across. Male, female, young, old. It's just a mad at the world lashing out. Some do seem to target schools in particular which I do think points to how much they hate/hated their times there due to being socially ostracized and bullied by others. The ones who kill their parents/family also point to issues at home.

just read about some guy in Iowa at a campground shot a random family and then himself. no history of any mental issues, no criminal record, no history of facebook hate posts, no connection to the family, no motive remotely found. killed them, then self. everyone is completely stumped.

he didn't go mental and drive off a cliff, or stab his hand with a fork, he didn't something very specific.
