I'm looking for suggestions based off of my top 20. People have suggested Twin Peaks to me... but that looks really stupid so I refuse to watch that. I was also suggested Legion (2017-2019) and that was horribly confusing so I quit in the middle of season 1.

Never saw them. So I'll recommend my favorite, "The Larry Sanders Show"

reply

While it did not come to mind in my recs to op, I can't say it isn't the greatest sitcom.

reply

I used to like his 80s show “It’s Gary Shandling’s Show”.

reply

Me too. It was very creative. Broke the 4th wall, and had a long running conversation with the audience, describing scenes, or what the character is thinking. I lost one of my best YouTube channels for posting his shows. I posted one, and there were no copyright complaints, and uploaded them all, and got 4 strikes, one for each video.

reply

Oh, I'd also recommend 'Barry' because you loved 'Dexter.'

📺 I agree with:
Person of Interest (2011–2016)
The X-Files (1993–2018) I don't think I ever watched it until I saw reruns in 2018.

Pushing Daisies (2007–2009)

📺 Series that have ended:
Seinfeld (1989–1998)
Frasier (1993-2004)
Coupling (2000–2004, 28 episodes, British, often compared to Friends, but funnier)
Modern Family (2009-2020)
Community (2009–2015) (I've never seen the final season, aired on another network, which fans generally disliked.)

NewsRadio (1995-1998, until Phil Hartman died)
Barney Miller (1975–1982)
