So I was running out of space on my shelves, so I took 10 blu rays that I wasn’t planning on rewatching to The Beat Goes On to sell. They took 7 of them but were only doing store credit so I got $90 store credit. I then used the store credit to buy four blu rays. I got:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (40th anniversary edition)
The Ring steelbook
Phantasm 1&2
Pet Sematary
Enter the Dragon 4K was released this year for it's 50th anniversary. I love all the Naked Gun movies so I was happy to see a triple feature on Amazon👍
“at a used record shop”
We also have a couple of vinyl shops here in the New Orleans area that always have obscure and cult films in various formats. It’s funny how the two often go hand in hand.
Knife of Ice - All of those Lenzi films with Carol Baker in them are pretty damn good. I love how he frequently used lots of the same actors over the years. Quite an underrated director.
Holy crap I lived in New Orleans for a year in the 2000's and I went to a few of those used record shops. I think there was one on Magazine Street somewhere. I bought the first two fast and furious movies and I think Torque too for like $5 lol.
I miss it there, best food in the USA hands down. I ended up moving back to Los Angeles a few months after Katrina hit or else I might still be living there.
I live in between New Orleans and Baton Rouge so I make the rounds at the vinyl shops of both cities every couple of months. My favorite shop in New Orleans has a huge 12” singles section, which is my favorite. You’re so right about the food.
I've seen it a few times already and I bought it to rewatch it because it had been a while since I last saw it and figured it's a perfect month for a rewatch
That one and Code Name Wild Geese definitely jumped out at me when I was going through the boxes. I’m now getting access at this store before they go out on the shelves. 😀
Yep, some stores are better than others for sure. One of my daughters is working at this one, so that’s why I’m getting the early picks. She sends me pics of movies she thinks I’d like all the time.
