I got lit up by bald faced hornets a while back and they are vicious.
Bald faced hornets are probably the most aggressive type. What happened?
A couple summer ago, I had a yellow jacket nest inside my walls! Apparently they found a hole outside and set up shop. Towards the end of fall when the weather started to get cold, some of them found their way into the living room. I was probably killed at least a dozen a day.
I hope they were slowed down by the cold even though they were inside.
A couple of years ago there was an old camper in a field we needed to send to the scrap yard. Every time I would try to put a good tire and wheel on it they would come after me so I waited until night time to do the work. The next day I towed it to the scrap yard and I told them about the hornets inside. When the crane grabbed it with the grapple and crushed it they came pouring out. I was standing with a group of people pretty far away and everyone ran. I got stung 7 times on the back of my neck and head. No one else got hit. I read later they they can remember faces and target them. Who knows? It might be true.
That's exactly what happened. They were extremely lethargic from the cold and lack of food, so I basically just vacuumed them up.
About the bald faced hornets, I bet it hurt like hell, but at least you now know you're not allergic now! If I find a nest in my yard, I might have to invest in a few of those dragons breath shotgun shells lol.
