You COULD HAVE ACTED LIKE A MAN!!

What's the matter with you? Is this what you've become? A Hollywood Finocchio who cries like a woman?!?

reply

I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do!

Whatever you do DON't sleep with the fishes!

That's too bad. Sometimes a popcorn classic will help to heal those emotional wounds. New York Ninja (2021) is a fun romp that incorporates elements of lost love, self-improvement and personal redemption. RLM did a recent video about it:

Not me, but I know someone who was in a similar situation. He decided to channel his feelings about the whole ordeal into his art, and he subsequently made a powerful song that helped him reconcile his romantic plight. Here it is, and be sure to listen to the track in its entirety in order to grasp the overall message of hope:

Yes 😶 With my first girlfriend. The relationship was pretty toxic towards the end and we broke up a bunch of times before finally calling it quits for good

No.

No. I take people at face value. Regardless of their real motives they're going to put out a vibe and if rejecting me is part of that vibe then it's just best to move on. While approaching them again may bring something about you'd have to question their motives for any time you spend around them. Can you build a meaningful relationship with people you've somehow guilted into being part of your life again? I wouldn't want to.

I did have one girlfriend who tried to reestablish a relationship with me again. She broke up with me in a pretty terrible fashion a number of years before. I figured that she could be genuine in her motives but I'd never really be sure and I'd always have that doubt running around inside my head so I figured it was best just to let it go. She ended up marrying a dude she started dating not long after reaching out to me. Maybe she came to a new reasoning in her life and maybe I missed out but I doubt I would have ever really trusted her to the point that I could have been happy with whatever we may have had.

The answer is yes and it is always a mistake. The best advice is in this Frankie Valli song:

reply

No.

Indeed, I've occasionally pissed people off by doing almost the very opposite.

'I don't think we should see each other any more.'
'Oh. OK. Fine. See ya, then.'

That casualness doesn't always go down that well with folk who feel you should be a bit more invested. There's clearly a balance to be struck between the 'begging and pleading' and shrugging.

Twice. Once it was a humiliation. Second time it actually worked and i'm eternally grateful. I'll never do it again regardless. I outgrew that weakness.
