Which movie should you have seen by now but haven’t?

Mine is Body of lies 2008. Two of my favourite actors, one of my favourite director, one of my favourite genre and owned it on DVD for at least six years…

I just haven’t watched it yet. 🤷‍♂️

Also, do you own a movie since a long time but you haven’t ever watched?

I sure do!

I bought a copy for a Guilty by suspicion 1991 (anyone seen it?) in a Walmart bin for five bucks about 12 years ago and never popped it yet. Bought it because it’s with Robert De Niro.

Edge of Tomorrow
District 9
Robocop
Oblivion
Mission: Impossible

reply

You haven't seen Robocop??

You should.

reply

At least watch District 9. It's still so good.

reply

Body of Lies... ummm, not bad but not great either. Also it felt too similar in mood as Blood Diamond, which I think is a better movie overall.

reply

Too many to list, but some classics: -
Casablanca
Citizen Kane
The Deer Hunter

reply

Wow! Casablanca is great, just don't watch the colourised version.

reply

Thanks for the tip. I watched millions of hours of TV and film and yet, there's loads that I still haven't seen.

reply

Citizen Kane

Illiterate Andy.

reply

Oops! I will edit it now to spare my blushes.

reply

You were probably thinking of Raising Cain.

reply

No, I was thinking of being caned (UK slang for being drunk), but even then it's a misspelling as there's no 'i' in it anyway, so god knows how I ended up typing what I did.

reply

Deer Hunter is one of the most over rated experiences ever. You're not missing anything there.

reply

I wouldn't go that far, but yeah, I actually liked Heaven's Gate more.

reply

I haven't seen the Phantom Thread yet, even though I love most of Paul Thomas Anderson's movies.

Just can't get excited about a drama about a dress maker, even if it stars Daniel Day-Lewis. It'll probably be great, though.

reply

i think it's his best movie, honestly. & i've liked/loved everything he's done.

i went in with much the same attitude as you - who would want to watch a movie about that? - but i got completely wrapped up in it.

The Godfather trilogy
