Shows you were into when you were a kid

Like what are some of the first shows that you got into growing up? Grew up towards the end of the 90s. Here are some of my firsts

1. The adventures of Sinbad (1996) - This was my first actual tv show. My friends & I were obsessed with it. We looked up to Sinbad. He was our Hero. We wanted to be him.

2. Conan the adventurer (1997) - I don't remember this one THAT much. I have vague memories of it

3. WWE (Back when it was called WWF) - My grandma & I absolutely loved watching it. It was entertaining as hell. The Rock, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, Kane, Triple H, The Undertaker & countless others. What an era of wrestling!

4. Mortal Kombat Conquest (1997) - This show got me into Mortal Kombat. Another show that my friends & I really loved.

5. Walker, Texas Ranger (1993) - From that awesome theme song to the action, loved this show as a kid.

6. Martial Law (1998) - We watched this one as a family. It was awesome.

7. Superman: The Animated series (1996) - This show is the main reason I'm such a HUGE Superman fanboy. I'm one of the few people who prefers him over Batman. And this show is why.

8. Batman Beyond (1999) - Rewatched it recently during the lockdowns & was genuinely amazed at how well it holds up & it's honestly pretty mature for a 'kids show'

9. Justice League animated series (2001) - This one was my jam! This show made me fall in love with DC. So fantastic!

10. Charmed (1998) - I don't know how well this one holds up but I absolutely loved it growing up.

My Grandma loved Sanford & Son. I only saw a couple of episodes hanging out with her. It's pretty funny. Redd Foxx was hilarious

reply

Oh yeah Redd Foxx was absolutely great. I’ve heard when he passed away from a heart attack the people around him thought he was joking around.

reply

i have used this joke on a few people

I'm an 80s kid, so the Dukes of Hazard, the A Team, Knight Rider, all those cheesy 80s action shows, as well as sitcoms like the Cosby Show, Alf, Family Ties, Gimme a Break, to name a few off the top of my head. Favorite cartoons were GI Joe, the Transformers, Robotech, and Muppet Babies.

I also watched a lot of shows from the 60s and 70s that were in syndication, like Bewitched, I Dream of Jeanie, Hogan's Heroes, and Welcome Back Kotter.

MY TWO FAVORITE TV SHOWS OF THE 80'S ARE FORGOTTEN TO MOST...DO YOU REMEMBER OUTLAWS OR THE WIZARD?...OUTLAWS WAS ABOUT TIME TRAVELLING COWBOYS OPENING A P.I. OFFICE IN THE 1980'S AND THE WIZARD WAS ABOUT A LITTLE PERSON TOYMAKER WHO USED HIS INVENTIONS TO THWART WRONGDOING.

reply

No, I missed those somehow, even though I watched a lot of TV then!

reply

I STILL WATCH OUTLAWS PREMIERE MOVIE ABOUT ONCE A YEAR...GOOD STUFF.

Even though I fell in love with the show in my teen years, I could not get into the show as a kid. Mostly cause it scared the shit outta me.

I couldn't even get past the creepy ass theme music!
