Movies where you want to eat what one of the characters are eating.

Pulp Fiction. When John Travolta is eating his bacon and eggs in the last scene of the movie, the way he moves the food around with his fork and the and the way he jams it down his throat makes me want to go order some breakfast.

Any meal from Downton Abby, but especially the one with the King and Queen.

For me, the all time best food movie is "Big Night" (Stanley Tucci and Tony Shalhoub are two brothers who run a Italian restaurant in 1950s Baltimore). There's all kinds of elaborate food prep and eating scenes throughout the movie, but my favorite is a simple scene at the end. The morning after a big party, Tucci's character silently makes an omelette, splits it with the busboy and his brother, and they all eat together with thick hunks of bread. It's a beautiful scene and always makes me hungry.

Its not a movie, but I rewatch 'The Sopranos' every few years, and it always makes me crave Italian food the whole way through.

reply

I've never seen an episode, but any shot of pasta would have me salivating.

reply

Oh man, they are CONSTANTLY eating, and talking about Italian food throughout that entire series.

reply

By the way, you should really watch it. All these years later, and I STILL think it's the best series ever made.
