A young couple moves into an infamous New York apartment building, known by frightening legends to start a family while her 20-year-old African-American son is finally forced-kicking and screaming to face the commitments of real life.

one last night to celebrate life as a single man before marrying Laura, so he sets out to Vegas with four of his best buddies. But a drug and alcohol filled night on the town leaves a stripper dead, a shoe repairman is fingered by the Mob to confess to the murder he didn't commit. But he is mistaken for a Mafia boss, and the two are suddenly catapulted to the highest levels of mobster status.

They end up living between unusual neighbors; on one side are three bachelors forced to take care of a baby left by one of the their girlfriends, and on the other side an immature child bride holds her anxious husband at bay while flirting with an amorous Sicilian farmer.

After swapping bodies with a serial killer, a young girl discovers she has to adapt to her mother's lifestyle.
