Things you were disappointed to discover?

For me, I was disappointed to discover that so many cool songs were ripping off beats/chords from older stuff (especially the 1970s). I've learned to make peace with it - especially if they're not ripping off the song entirely.

Size really does matter...Dammit! I just gave myself away. How embarrassing.

I can really feel Paul's anguish as he's playing in the studio when a talentless banshee starts shrieking beside him, George was lucky to be absent!

I enjoy Yoko's music and artwork. Howard Stern did a serious music critique which I found enlightening. Some of her conceptual art is very insightful.

The all white chessboard is a cool concept. I guess I enjoy experimental art.

The Phantom Menace.

At that time yes, but now I think the movie is not that bad...

Sci Fi movies keep lying to me as the years pass.

Tony Blair being such a hated political figure and responsible possibly directly and intentionally for the illegal and catastrophic war in Iraq. And alas, whilst this was the worst part, it sadly turned out to not be the only one. I was thinking at the time around 90s especially that he is at least a normal guy, politician or not, however...

And there are other bits here and there about human nature, give or take. Even though in some ways I was warned about it a little in advance, albeit, didn't expect it would be that officially bad.

Still unsure

marmalade. i'd always thought it sounded like something that ought to be great. and i love paddington. but i found when i tried it as an adult, i just didn't dig it all that much.

reply

Brands vary. Don’t eat cheap marmalade. Try a luxury brand.

reply

I would not eat marmalade if you paid me, jelly made from the peels of oranges ... where all the chemicals are.

organic?

reply

That would be better.

I recently bought a place that has an mini orange tree, a dwarf grapefruit tree, and a lemon tree..You can eat everything right off the tree. I love the guy who landscaped this place.

That putine is not delicious.

reply

Putin? (Lol!)

reply

oops ... "poutine"

reply

Yeah, Putin, Vladimir Putin, is still our President of Russia. And whereas lots of English people can and have joked on his surname, we Russians also have VVP, which is Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin but also Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and in Russia, due to problems with economy, it was also seen by many at its low, as was, lol, Putin himself.

reply

Poutine can be delicious, but not all poutines are made equally.

I guess I have to get it in the Great White North to really get the good stuff. I've tried twice here in California. Once at a food truck festival and once at a restaurant. Both were severely disappointing. Did not finish either.

reply

A lot of places just put mozza and gravy on fries, and that's not poutine.

reply

If I'm gonna get my balls blown off for a word, my word is poutine.
