Back in '99, I was driving my stepbrother to school on a rainy day in my mom's Mercury Cougar, which had rear-wheel drive. As we were cruising down the road, my stepbrother turned to me and urged me to gun it. Without hesitation, I floored the gas pedal, and the car quickly spun out of control. Before I knew it, we careened off the road, rolled over, and fell about 15 to 16 feet down into the forest on the side of the street, landing the car on its side.
We managed to crawl out of the car through the passenger side window and walked away without a scratch. A Good Samaritan who witnessed the accident quickly called an ambulance. When the ambulance arrived, the paramedic checked us over and called my father. We were close to the house so he showed up in about 10 min. When he arrived the paramedic told my father that he he had seen many such accidnets and that most people don't survvie. He then told him that he should take us out to a celebritory steak dinner because we were lucky to be alive.
Since we were 18 years old, we gave zero fucks and laughed the whole thing off like it was nothing. The hard part came when I had to call my mom and explain to her that her car was totaled.
