I think Jewish culture is great, and their contribution to America has been incalculable, but this was clearly a case of Jews in Hollywood over-promoting one of their own.
(I understand Don Rickels and Rodney Dangerfield, they killed. Amy Schumer? mediocre at best.)
Miles Teller. He's done nothing in his career that has warranted he should have a career - quite the contrary - but he still gets a fair amount of work.
Ben Affleck. I just find everything he does as an actor boring, but he's rarely a sidekick in a movie.
Meryl Streep. I don't dislike her as an actor, but I do feel there was a time when studios treated her like she was everything people needed in their lives - same goes for Charlize Theron.

There was a time I would have really agreed, but I think he's past that point. He's just a working actor now. He's past the point of them trying to make him an "it" guy. A lot of it stemmed from that shitty movie, The Spectacular Now. I will say he was excellent in Whiplash though.

You know what's weird about him? He has gotten increasingly more wooden as time goes on. Go watch Good Will Hunting or one of the Kevin Smith movies. Not saying he was a great actor, but he at last had emotion/personality. But somewhere along he line he started doing this dead fish cardboard box impression.

They still do. We're supposed to drool over everything she does.
Teller - While I agree they're finally over trying to make him an "it" guy, but for a while there he was everywhere and that wasn't a good thing for anyone.
Affleck - I've seen Good Will Hunting, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, etc. I even remember seeing him in the og Buffy movie. But I don't think he's changed as an actor from then till now.
Streep - Yes. Same with Theron; we're supposed to love both in everything and I just don't.
Affleck is noticeably different ]. You watch those movies you just named then watch Argo, Gone Girl, or even his Batman. He has no personality anymore.
Clooney seems like a really nice guy, but yeah. His movies are so uninteresting.
I would say Armie Hammer, Jai Courtney, and Dane Dehaan. Studios tried to make them all "a thing" for a bit. Timothee Chalamet might fit that bill right now.
Gonna agree with you re Timothee Chalamet. He has a very smug look about him that I find very off-putting, but he seems to be everywhere now.
I don't mind Clooney. He's nice looking. I feel like I know too much about his life as a person though, with all the fuss about the woman he married being a human rights lawyer. I prefer to know as little as possible about actors' real lives, it just takes me right out of the character.
I think most people who don't worship the award show crowd feel the same way about Chalamet. He definitely has an air about him. He has this "My movies are art" thing about him. He seems snobby, smug, arrogant even. And I gotta be honest, no one sees his movies. They're not popular outside of the awards show crowd.
