Do you like mathematics?
I should like mathematics - I'm a community college math tutor and it is necessary overall - but it's something I would enjoy in moderation.

shareI LOVED MATH...MATH LOVED ME BACK TOO...JUNIOR AND SENIOR YEAR I HAD THE SAME TEACHER AND HIS STYLE WAS YOU WORK,I READ THE PAPER...HE DIDNT ANTICIPATE ME FINISHING THE ASSIGNMENTS WITHIN 15 MINUTES AND DISTRIBUTING THE ANSWERS TO MY AMIGOS AROUND ME...LAST PERIOD BECAME THE CHILL AND CHAT PERIOD.
shareNo. Mathematics confuse and annoy me.
I’m a definite right-brain type of guy.
Some of it is absolutely fascinating, other parts are deadly dull.
😎
Help me with long division
shareI mostly like it in the context of solving a physics or engineering problem.
shareIt was my favourite subject in school. I've lost a lot of knowledge over the years though.
shareOnly in smaller doses, I'm afraid.
I guess I'm more of a language and humanities person.
For the most part, yes. I wasn't a math major in college and only had calculus there. In grad school I was training to be a research scientist, and we went through the whole general linear model, all the way from simple T-tests through multiple regression, multidimensional scaling, factor analysis, et cetera to full blown causal analysis, as well as all the probability and statistics associated with those things.
I ended up going into a completely different occupation, but when confronted with a weird math-related situation those would be the tools I'd immediately lunge for. For example, when a bizarre event resulted in a fellow employee being suspected of hacking into administrator level access on our computer network, I was able to show that the probability of the strange event being nothing more than coincidence was well over 50%, clearing him from suspicion.
OTOH, other fields of math -- differential equations, etc -- are things I don't know much about.
