Absolutely! I re-read In Cold Blood and To Kill a Mockingbird about 15 years ago. I am way overdue to reread Nineteen Eighty-Four.

shareBelieve it or not, I went all through school without "To Kill a Mockingbird" ever being on a reading list. I finally read it about five years ago and it has become my favorite book.

Tolkien certainly achieved something impressive with it, given that it's still being read and discussed despite it having been more than 80 years since it was first published.
Tonally and thematically it is something of a blueprint for many fantasy novels that have come since.
