If you are American, what is the most American thing about you.
I’ll start.
My love of ice in beverages.
I’ll start.
My love of ice in beverages.
Ice in beverages is an American thing?
shareThat’s my impression.
shareNot really. Ice is the cheapest part of the drink and cutting costs is a worldwide thing.
shareNot really. Ice is the cheapest part of the drink and cutting costs is a worldwide thing.
Sure, I'd always take the bigger cup, no matter what :)
shareBE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR...IF YOU GO TOO BIG YOU COULD HAVE BACK PROBLEMS.
shareBut would you prefer the ice in the bigger cup?
shareSoft drinks need crushed ice, lots of it. Warm Coke is disgusting.
I'd never put ice in beer, even the cup instead of a glass is a bit of a stretch to me.
But what kind of cup?
shareIf I’m really thirsty a warm Coke would be fine for me. In one of those dinky glass bottles. The bubbles quench my thirst.

Lol!
shareI think so. They don’t do it in Europe or South America.
shareTHE CONFEDERATE FLAG TATTOO ON MY PENIS.
shareToo bad a microscopic would be needed to see it; not that anyone would want to 🤮
shareNOT THAT I WAS OFFERING,BUT ITS GOOD TO KNOW YOUR ANSWER ANYWAY.🙂
shareBlech... you’re foul. I have compassion for you.
Good luck.
LOL...IM FOUL,YET YOURE THE ONE WHO KEEPS TRYING TO INSULT ME FOR SOME REASON...FOR THE RECORD..IM 6'6" ABOUT 200 LBS,MARRIED AND THE FATHER OF AN AWESOME DAUGHTER...YOU ENJOY YOUR SCHTICK THOUGH,ITS ALMOST AMUSING.🙂
shareIt’s ok. If you hear from Shogun please tell him I retract my reporting of your confederate flag/penis post.
It was foul and uncalled for, however I responded to it and that rather cancelled out my request for mod intervention.
As for your being 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds, that sounds very healthy. I’m glad for you.
What do I have to do with any of this?
shareI think she's implying that you're a Mod mate.
shareThat's clearly preposterous...everyone knows I would go mad with power😈
shareLMAO! 😂 😆 🤣
share I'm so glad you're 'laughing your ass off'
Your concern with trolls and bots, your need for counter surveillance equipment because people feel the need to spy on you (!?!) and your frequent bouts of shouting 'misogyny' and using terms like 'masculist' (did you make that up?) have made you pretty unpleasant to deal with
In the future don't assume you know me...get to know yourself, you've got a lot going on...much of it is not so cool
Did you really report him or was that a joke?
No, I really did!
I’m not Mrs Grundy and I’m not getting the vapors.
But for him to mention his penis with a confederate flag on it no less, is just rude.
Maybe where you come from that’s not considered rude, I get that.
But wouldn’t it be considered distasteful at the least, for a woman to say she had such and such tattooed on her labia?
I get it if your answer is no. We may just differ in opinion.
For the record, mentioning your penis and the confederate flag in one sentence no less, is foul.
I hope you don’t expose your daughter to the filth you barf out on the internet.
YIKES!...I WOULD SAY JESUS CHRIST! BUT YOU WOULD PROBABLY HIT ME IN THE FOREHEAD AND SCREAM AMEN.
share"If you hear from Shogun please tell him I retract my reporting of your confederate flag/penis post."
You're joking right? You reported him for THAT?! Wow. Hardcore.
I thought the report function was just sent to the Mods through the report button (I haven't ever used it myself, I can handle anything anyone says without running for help) - isn't that the case? Or do you mean you messaged Shogs DIRECTLY to report another user for making quite an innocent joke with the 'p' word?? If so, double WOW.
Yes Tim, the P word can be rather upsetting to the ladies for many reasons that you have no empathy for.
You just really are clueless towards women’s issues and all keyed into the men’s issues.
No I just think you are acting like an old wowser.
I would be just as blase if someone had used the 'p' word that refers to female genitalia. And fun fact, I have many female friends, more than male friends probably, and none of them seem to bemoan my lack of empathy for them in our friendships. In fact I've never had someone tell me I am anti-female, until that day I met you...
Penis. Report that, Professor X
xxx
What’s a wowser?
shareYOU ARE AWARE SAID "P WORD" IS THE MEDICAL TERM...IT ISNT A "BAD" WORD OR DEGORATORY...I APPOLOGIZE IF THE WORD ACTUALLY OFFENDS YOU ,HOWEVER IT ISNT OFFENSIVE AND WASNT DIRECTED IN THAT MANNER EITHER.🙂
shareGet some sleep and clean this post up in the morn.
It’s just bad form to mention your penis in mixed company. You wouldn’t like it for men to talk about their penis’ in front of your daughter, would you?
Now just pretend you have the same respect for all women.
It’s easy!
I'm a woman and I honestly don't understand why the word bothers you. There is a vast difference between what is acceptable in adult conversations and those where a child is involved.
I don't get offended by language - even the C word doesn't bother me and I know it drives some women over the edge. At the end of the day, it's just a word.
What is said on a message board is considerably different that what is said in public, (at least I hope so.)
Ok I understand. I’m sorry I got so freaked out.
I get sensitive when I feel I’m being bullied in a sexual manner by a man. Seems like perhaps just posting her e is me wandering into an “anything goes” platform, which I may find distasteful. That’s my problem. Clearly I need to accept that MovieChat is somewhat dominated by the dirty kids lounge lizards.
Thanks for that. You’ve illuminated yourself. Good luck little buddy!!!
shareBurn!!!
shareI feel the need to comment on this, as a woman, just to say I’m not offended either by reading the comment ‘THE CONFEDERATE FLAG TATTOO ON MY PENIS‘.
Penis.....It’s a word, an anatomical word, not directed against anyone, not said abusively, offered in a very silly sentence.
Indeed, it made me chuckle and my first impression, had the tattoo been real was ‘Crickey, that must have hurt!’ 😯
I understand. For me, it was the context in which he made his comment. It made me feel insulted but I now think he was being flippant in a standard way.
shareIs this post for real? I must admit that I'm a little shocked that this would be real and that the word penis would be offensive. It's a body part. So are the vulva, the vagina, the anus, the scrotum, the arms, the legs, the torso, the head. None of those words should be offensive.
Now if you whipped out your penis and showed it to anyone without permission, that would be offensive, but the word??? I just don't get it.
YEAH...SHE SURPRISED ME WITH THAT LINE OF INSANITY TOO.🙂
shareIt was the context in which he used the word that made me feel sexually bullied and insulted.
You recited a female anatomy reproductive system list of body parts. It’s not the same thing.
I now understand that this considered a bawdy environment but let me ask you. How often would you see a post about an area of women’s private parts?
Maybe it happens all the time .
I don't really. I honestly did think you were joking though. I guess I can see how it is a little offensive, but I took it as a joke as well. I don't find talking about body parts offensive though, so that's me.
shareIt made me chuckle.

Here’s a peace offering.
I understand the confederate flag means different things to people.
To me it represents oppression, slavery, and an oligarchy.
Maybe to you it simply represents the south. I have a hard time with that given the black population down there.
We disagree. 🕊
I have an ancestor who was on the Mayflower, if my grandmother's genealogy is to be believed. It sounded authentic.
There are an estimated 10 million living Americans and as many as 35 million people worldwide descended from the Pilgrims, according to the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. -- USA Today Article
That’s so interesting to me. If you are a woman you are entitled to join the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Do you have letters or anything from back then?
I seem to recall my grandmother also claiming we had an ancestor who fought in the War of Independence. She had no interest in the DAR, perhaps because she grew up poor and had an image in her mind that the DAR would be full of snobs. She passed away in 2008, 3 months shy of 100.
I saw her amateur genealogy years ago and it looked ok to me, but it is still amateur genealogy. Today, with the internet, things must be better for the amateur genealogist.
My aunt would have all the stuff grandma left behind but, believe it or not, I'm not terribly interested. I wouldn't blow off knowing more, to be sure, but I'm just not terribly interested. If I had kids maybe I would be, for their sake.
Thank you for sharing that nyc.
That was very interesting.
I think your family history is very important whether or not you have your own kids.
I'm not American but can i just ask
"whats the deal with the pickup trucks?"
I know they're useful for this that n the other , but look at the traffic in any other country and it isnt 50% pickup trucks
I currently own three trucks. I could not do all the things I need to do in a day without them. One of them is a 4x4 and it’s proved it’s usefulness countless times.
sharewhat can the 2wd ones do that the 4wd one cant?
shareOne is a dually 3500 series that I use to pull large trailers for work and I keep it loaded with tools and equipment for work also.
Another is a truck that is a 3500 also and I use it to pull our camper on vacations and it’s my daily driver.
The 4x4 is for off road. This truck isn’t strong enough to tow the things that the other 2 can.
[deleted]
I could get away with 2 but I try to keep one in really nice shape and the others are used and abused.
share[deleted]
Well as you said my situation dictates having more than one truck. Others I know have one or two trucks in a family because they are needed also. Half the people I live around have boats, campers, utility trailers, ATVs or whatever. They also have acreage so it’s hard to tend to animals, fences or whatever out of a car also. How do you go to Home Depot to pick up a load of materials to build something? What about a load of metal to bring to the scrap yard? When you and your buddies go to the hunting camp for the weekend and someone shoots a buck do you put it in the back of the truck or strap it to the top of your Toyota Prius? When a neighbor had their car stuck in a ditch what’s the best thing to pull him out? If it floods, like it does where I live, and you have to get yourself and your family through high rushing water, what do you want? The pros of a truck are endless and that’s why people drive them.
shareGood answer👍
Rural Americans can't get by without them and down in the cities they serve construction guys perfectly
I want another one someday, a good pickup with 4 doors is a thing of greatness
Here construction people use a van. Miles more space , easier to load , and it doesent get stolen like it would from a truck bed - which seems one of the biggest disadvantages of trucks to me - masses of unsecure load area
shareThe Canadian Prairies sure have their fair share of pickup trucks.
sharePeople buy big trucks to be the largest vehicle on the road. It’s nuts.
shareThe most American thing you can be is the grandchild of someone who wasn't born there.
