How far from a beach do you live?

And is it a good beach?

I live 10 minutes drive from the beach. Nice soft sand.

I once lived in a seaside down in Ireland called dun laoghaire, no beach, but a beautiful walk along the coastline.

reply

Around 2 hours drive.

reply

It's all right. To go to the good beach I'd need around 3.5 hours drive.

reply

About a fifteen minute drive to a suburban beach. But there is a much nicer one about half an hour's drive away out of the city. You turn off down a little road that soon becomes a dirt road and winds around and about until you arrive at a quiet, sheltered, little beach. And if the temperature is right and the wind is in the south you get a lovely, refreshing sea breeze to enjoy.

The beach is about 20 minutes over a hill. What's odd is my city is technically on the ocean, but there is no beach. You have to drive to get to that.

I've experienced that in Ireland. There were inlets where there was a small beach.
When I lived in Ireland, there was a sunny weekend where the temps got up to 20 degrees (68F) and I went to the beach for hours two days in a row. I actually got sunburnt and got a great tan from it.
My coworkers were like 'wow where'd you go?'

It was all Ireland. But I did get a good tan from the Irish beach which sounds weird.

The next time I went to Ireland I was quite tanned from the American/European summer, and just sunbathing in their weak sun kept my tan going. People were like 'why are you so tanned?'

There is some power to their sun.

reply

Having a nice tan is an admirable accomplishment. I'm envious.

reply

About 15 minutes. I used to go to the beach a lot years ago and collect sea shells.

reply

Less than an hour to Lake Tahoe. It's beautiful, but to get to a nice ocean beach from Reno, probably 3.5 - 4 hours.

reply

It depends on whether you're talking about an ocean beach or a lake beach. If it's a lake beach, about three blocks - not that one can go swimming there - it's a fishing lake, not a swimming one. If it's an ocean beach, it's well over 1000 miles.

reply

Atlantic Ocean beaches are an hour away
Lakes and ponds only a few minutes out

reply

LAKES & PONDS ARE GROSS...FISH DO IT IN THERE🤢

reply

Um, I suspect fish "do it" in the ocean, too.

reply

The bodily fish fluids are just less concentrated in the ocean.

reply

YEAH ITS LIKE A BIG PUDDLE FULL OF HORNY FISH😱

reply

It's not something I've studied. 😉 But yeah, I get it.
