We're having a πŸ”₯🌊

I don't know what happened to spring, but summer is here. Starting tomorrow we're in for at least five days of temps at or above 90Β°F with the bonus accompaniment of high humidity. Oh joy, oh rapture.

I'm not ready for this yet. No AC for me. 😬

The heatwave finally broke today. A comfy 73 right now. The A/C is off for the first time since last Friday.

reply

Good for you! πŸ‘ Today was really nice around here - in the mid 70s and mostly sunny. Got my lawn mowed. Had a race with Mr Neighbor since he was mowing, too. I'm sure the other neighbors were shaking their heads at us. πŸ˜„

reply

has it ever cooled off from last week - just 55 degrees today.

reply

Yikes. That happened here, too. A few days after the heat broke we had a couple of days where it barely hit 60, and rainy, too. Weather whiplash!!

reply

So far this season, nine children have already died in overheated cars. It just boggles my mind every summer that people continue to be this blatantly absent minded, careless.

reply

I'll never figure that out, either. How can you possibly forget your children?? It has been suggested that people ought to put their smartphone in the back with the kids. Somehow, they almost never forget their phone.

reply

Sad and true

reply

Doing that may also keep them from talking or texting while driving. Better all the way around.

reply

Good idea
Im amazed at how many idiots i see texting while driving
I just dont get that

reply

I know! Defensive driving gets more difficult all the time, trying to avoid those idiots. 😠

reply

I fear it will only get worse

reply

Sadly, I think you're exactly right.

reply

they almost never forget their phone

That suggestion is proposed because memory works through association. But it also spotlights how the phone is the more significant priority compared to the child. It's enough to make one contemplate " going off the grid " sometimes.

reply

It's appalling, isn't it? When I'm out and about, it's almost unbelievable how many people have their noses in their phones, totally oblivious to the world around them. πŸ™„

reply

Thats awful and sickening
Seems to happen every summer...
'Boggles the mind' is a good way to say it
'Life Sentence' would be another

reply

So the answer was: "We're having a fire tsunami"

Did I get it right?

reply

I believe that's taking place in Hawaii right now. πŸ˜‰
