Movie Challenge Y'all!!!

Think of a movie you love and post some dialogue...

Offer a hint as to the context, the lighting or soundtrack, describe a scene...
Other posters have to figure out the movie
I will start:
A few dudes are going fishing...
'Were going to need a bigger boat'

Underground - conversation between two brothers

"This tunnel is mine , as much as anybody. I dug it . I built it.I was buried many times. I go when I want."

reply

"Danny" - "The Great Escape"

reply

talk about a classic - The Great Escape is one of them.

reply

Yes, & "Danny" was not without doubt---his confidence shot to hell as the moment of crisis is sighted. That doubt did indeed truncate the escape count. Nothing wrong with the production presenting that to us. We can tote up the ciphers. That "Danny" was "buried many times" is all there is.

reply

MacDonald to Hendley :" This is the 17th tunnel Danny's started . "

Sedgwick: " Ya vas lyubliu. What's it mean ? "
Danny : " I love you. "
Sedgwick : " Love you. What bloody good is that ? "
Danny : " I don't know, I wasn't going to use it myself. "

reply

Ya'll can't lynch me! I'm a white man!

1950s crime drama/prison movie

"The Defiant Ones" - Curtis

reply

you are correct - very impressive.

reply

The 1950s clue got me snortin'.

Curtis at the end:::"I'm mashed potatoes now."

Bickel did a great job. He wasn't out for blood, just doing his job the best way he knew how.

Chaney, Jr.,,,ever the stalwart.

The best part is when they're in the sink pit. Stunning achievement there by the entire production.

Good citation, howie.

reply

I watched it last nite for the first time, A solid movie.

reply

& it's ageless. Frozen in time 60 years.

"Creed" & "Jake Spoon" did a tv adaptation, but, it's splintered & doesn't work.

reply

Wow!
I need to see this one

Thx fellas!

When he first arrives in the city his suede jacket with the fringe is beautiful & in pristine condition. By the end it's soiled & filthy.

Yeah, and they have the flashback where he's caught with the girl back home. Filmed that to great affect.

It's a sad movie, howie.
& doesn't Ratso die toward the end?
I've only seen it once a long time ago. It was a big deal when it came out. They haggled over the rating. X or R? That was just to drive the anticipation.

reply

I am watching it right now. Haven't seen it in full before.

reply

I'm sorry, howie. I had no idea you were in the process. Damn!

reply

No worries - I figured
Ratso wasn't going to make it
