Movie Challenge Y'all!!!

Think of a movie you love and post some dialogue...

Offer a hint as to the context, the lighting or soundtrack, describe a scene...
Other posters have to figure out the movie
I will start:
A few dudes are going fishing...
'Were going to need a bigger boat'

reply

You talkin' to me!
How's that sounds!

reply

Taxi Driver

reply

Yeaaaaaa

reply

"I will not allow violence against this house."

reply

Oh thats gotta be Straw Dogs
I only remember because somebody posted about Straw Dogs and the remake the other day

Straw Dogs

reply

correct

reply

The remake was pretty good btw...awful CGI deer hunting scene notwithstanding lol

A fiery Captain addresses his crew before war on the high seas...

Cap: 'Do YOU want to see a guillotine in Piccadilly?'

Crew: 'NO!'

Cap: 'Do YOU want to call that raggedy ass Napoleon YOUR king??

Crew: 'NO!'

Cap: 'Do you want YOUR children to sing the 'La Marseilles???'

Crew: 'NO!'

A very rousing movie moment...

That has to be Master and Commander: The Far side of the World. I love how dedicated the whole movie is to the period piece, right down to the authentic clothing and language of the day, some stellar craftsmanship. As recently as 2017 Russell Crowe has been teasing the possibility of a sequel.

I'll get to your Beatles/Led Zeppelin thread eventually, my head is wrapped tighter than the Mummy's bandages trying to figure out that one!

reply

You got it!

Oh man a sequel would be most appreciated!!
Such a great movie (the books are good too if a bit slow and technical about sailing knots and such...)

No worries buddy...it is an impossible choice really
I picked Zep but now im thinking Beatles lol!

A growing conflict arises between Hindus and Muslims in British held India in the region that is now part of modern day Pakistan. A British officer is tasked to protect and escort a young Prince to safety.

More hints if needed.

Gunga Din

reply

Not it, no Thugees. From the late 1950s, made by the 'Guns of Navarone' director. I really need to get around to seeing 'Gunga Din' as it's a big influence in both Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Has Kenneth More and Lauren Bacall.

reply

Darn it all, i stink at Pre-70s stuff
Its really my only weakness😁
I think i just tapped out

Howie, MJF, db or dewey will get this any minute id bet!
