How old were you when 9/11 happened?
I was 14 (later on 1st October that year turned 15), you?

shareWow, I was only 17. It's so hard for me to grasp that it has been so long since I was a teenager.
shareI turned 28 on September 12th

shareI was 15 years old when it happened. I was living in IL at the time, so when the attack took place, I was in First Hour gym class. I didn't hear about it until Second Hour, when I was heading to Introduction to Physical Science (IPS for short). Pretty much everyone was glued to their tv's that day.
The weirdest thing that happened was, everyone was heading to Third Hour, and we suddenly got an alert from the PA system. Everyone in the entire school froze, totally expecting to hear about another attack, or something like that. I remember being in one of the big stairwells when it happened. Then it turned out to be a regular announcement about something school-related and inconsequential. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and went back to walking to their next class.
I was on a bus on the way to work. When I got into work, the building was in chaos. We were in the Northeast and people had friends and family living and working near the WTC, so they were on their phones trying to reach them. One coworker couldn't reach her husband for hours. It turned out he had had to walk back home over the bridge because of the transport shutdowns.
The following few weeks, it was eerie how quiet people were on the bus to work. Once the airports reopened, I had to periodically fly for work and the airports for the next few weeks were just really wierd. Very very quiet. Almost no passengers.
It was a strange time.
I had recently gotten home from school and was watching "Oprah" with Mum.
Then a text about some airplane crashes started scrolling across the TV screen.
My sister who was at work was in a chatroom and noticed that everybody was freaking out about something.
And the following day, we had Maths during the first period of the school day.
The teacher just said "Today is the day after yesterday", but we all knew what she meant.

shareI was 10. It’s amazing how many jokes it gave family guy and Spike Lee something to use in a few movies. I remember one time when I worked at a movie theater this one customer was suspicious of a guy looking at his cup a few times and said “ever since 9/11 those guys have been nothing but trouble”. That was for a Jack Reacher showing.
