What song makes you cry?
I was listening to my CD of Sting singing Fields of Gold and it always makes me cry remembering my lost love.

Slimone, if you love Fields O' Gold, you owe it to yourself to hear Eva Cassidy sing it. The song is on her albums, Eva Cassidy Live At Blues Alley and Songbird. Eva turns that pop tune into a hymn. If Sting makes you cry, be prepared for a Tsunami when you hear Eva. Another Eva song with the same kind of affective impact is her rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, completely re-defining the song and taking it right away from Judy Garland. Continuing with the theme of lost love, Eva sings the full version of Danny Boy on her album, Imagine. I warn you, Eva Cassidy, the best pop singer I have ever heard, is addictive!
Final lost love recommendation: the song I'm A Doun, sung and played by another of my faves, Vanessa-Mae, a talented Chinese violinist. This tune is a poem by the Bard of Scotland, Robert Burns, sung to a traditional Scotts tune written for bagpipes. Well, Vanessa-Mae wrings more feeling out of the melody with her Stradivarius than I've ever heard come out of a bagpipe.
I'd like to know your reaction.
PS I forgot to stipulate that these songs make me, a grown heterosexual man, cry. I have a cherished friend who tells me that it takes a very strong man to let himself cry, and that her father cries, too.

It was just a track which came out when my life was changing in a big way during my early teens. I may not show tears but deep down my heart cries.
The mid-1970's song, "Shannon", by Henry Gross, makes me cry.
