Are you watching anything right now?

On your TV, some other screen, same screen?

I have the movie Inconceivable (2017) on in the background on TV, but clearly not paying much attention.
sorry i just don't like Nic Cage

Unbreakable is on TV right now; seen it many times before but there's nothing else good on, so I have it on in the background.

I realized I'm really tired of M Night's camera angles and other stupid shit, even in retrospect.

reply

Right now I am watching 'Bullitt' on TCM
I love watching old movies set in San Francisco. The chase scenes always crack me up though because they turn a corner and they are suddenly in a different neighborhood that is actually a mile away.

Good flick! I wondered about how the suspension systems in both of those vehicles were able to endure the punishment they did vaulting off those extremely hilly streets, but, oh well.

Not to mention, how Steve McQueen is running around on the airport runway with planes taking off just feet away from him, and he does not go deaf from the noise or get blown away in the jet blast

reply

Currently watching The Last Ship and Salvation. Both are surprisingly good.

Just watched 'Angela's Ashes' and right now watching "Five Easy Pieces' that just started. I've seen it before many years ago, of course. I do like the young Jack Nicholson movies. He's almost a self-parody now, but he has been in some great movies.
That would be a good thread- pick Nicholson's best decade.

Just finished watching West of Memphis. Wow, one helluva powerful and well put together documentary !

reply

Yes I agree. Did you watch the other docs about the WM3 previously?

reply

I assume you're referring to the Paradise Lost HBO documentaries. No, but I definitely will if I ever get the opportunity. Several months ago I saw a very similar one about the case of The Central Park 5.

reply

Yes, that is what I was referring too, I just couldn't remember the name for a minute. West of Memphis sums it all up pretty good, but they were very well done too. Damien Echols also wrote a book "Life After Death" which is really good. Charles Baldwin has been trying to write one for the past few years as well.
I never did watch the one about The Central Park 5, but I keep meaning to get around to it.
