Dem politicians with few exceptions are just as pro Israel as Republicans. Look at the votes not the rhetoric. They definitely don't hate Jews. Kamala's husband is Jewish, not that it would make s difference if he wasn't.
I don't know the details of the Guard claim. I know he served 24 yrs. In theory, if someone were to serve 24 yrs in the Guard I wouldn't begrudge them resigning. If they were morally against the war in which they might be asked to serve, I respect that decision. Especially if it was the bullshit Iraq/Afghanistan wars. I don't know if that's what happened in Walz case.
I've heard different things about Minneapolis like that Walz hesitated on sending in the national guard bc he valued lives over property damage. If that's the case then I respect that decision too.
Fair enough. As with anything in politics, there are always a plethora of conflicting claims. Regarding the National Guard, the accusation leveled by at least one person in his unit is that only a couple weeks after being given orders to head to Iraq in the spring of 2005 Walz resigned his position, despite still having 2 years left on his obligation. On receiving those orders he had been given the conditional title of Command Sergeant Major, in anticipation of leading his National Guard Unit in Iraq. And then, despite never actually serving in that capacity prior to leaving the Guard, he promoted himself as having attained that rank while running for office. If true, that's pretty slimy and I would think that some of the vets here, you know who you are, would chafe at a vice-presidential candidate engaging in Stolen Valor.
Dem politicians are pro-Jew to the extent that it gains them constituents. The Chuck Schumers of the world may have stronger ties to international Jewry, but most politicians' affection for Israel is rooted in campaign contributions and AIPAC minders. It's very plausible that they floated Shapiro's name last week in an effort to gauge the reaction and that they determined at this particular time, the electoral calculus (particularly with Muslim-heavy states like Michigan and Minnesota in play) did not favor a candidate who had served with the IDF. In general, the Democrats are trending toward being and anti-Jew party.
As for letting the Twin Cities burn, his statements are a matter of record. He sympathized completely with the rob, mob, and burn ferals.
Whereas JD Vance served heroically in Iraq as a [checks his bio] a "correspondent". He wrote about his proudest moment of that service as when he bravely handed out an eraser to a small child.

February: Walz filed to run for Congress
May: Walz retired from the Guard
July: Walz ordered to deploy
He was already retired so the order was sent in error.
While in the the Guard Walz achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major but did not retire at that rank bc there was additional coursework he needed to do. So it's not Stolen Valor.
See, that's where there are discrepancies. Stories I've read claim that his Guard unit received a warning in early 2005, that they would be deployed to Iraq, Walz was promoted in amticipation of that deployment on April 1, but then retired on May 16.
