The American citizen has every right to feel vote counting is simple, objective and rapid. The longer it takes, the more suspicion and cynicism is created. Those whose candidates lost must have confidence that they lost fairly. But it’s hard to maintain faith in a system that really would not suffice in a high school homecoming queen election

I'm a Dem but I agree that 4 days out from the election it's absurd that there are so many undecided races. According to CNN there are many House races in California that are still only reporting ~60% of the vote. Did every poll worker just take the weekend off? Maybe in this one (and only this one) case CA can learn something from TX and FL.

shareI think Nevada is absolutely an embarrassment. They need 72 hours to count 50,000 absentee and mail-in ballots? Think of how quickly and orderly people can present tickets for scanning and entry to an 80,000 seat NFL stadium; it’s maybe a 60 minute process.

There’s nothing there explaining why it’s now taking days if not weeks post-election to count votes. I don’t even see where it says “most elections are run by Republicans” for whatever that was worth. I mean you might have well said “there are elections in America” and cited to “the internet.”
