I just meant it's like everybody who knows about the movie Caligula knows it's disgusting, or that everybody knows the "no more wire hangers" line. Those are notorious, I doubt most people even know this stuff is in there or would even notice it.

It was NBC's answer to the Waltons, which was much better. Of course Earl Hamner had direct involvement in Waltons. Who knows what Little House would have been like if Laura Ingalls Wilder had still been alive and active. Based on her political bent she might have been on the side of the railroad.
