Laura's Books to be Dramatized in New Series on Netflix

I always thought it was a shame that TV show took the avenue it did. Far to syrupy and mundane considering the expense given. Too bad Landon was involved because it focused on him too much when the true story would have been far more entertaining. But they bought the book not the truth so we got stuck with a prime time slot with a story for 8yr olds.

The series did get both silly and annoying. One major annoyance for me was the way it skipped around in time. The characters kept aging normally, but the year would be several years ahead of or behind where it should be depending on the episode. I explained in detail here: https://moviechat.org/tt0071007/Little-House-on-the-Prairie/65e363a4174dc4526923c61a/Inconsistencies Yes, for the 50th anniversary I did watch every episode and the three movies, and quality varied depending on the episode just like the date varied depending on the episode and not normal time progression.

It was NBC's answer to the Waltons, which was much better. Of course Earl Hamner had direct involvement in Waltons. Who knows what Little House would have been like if Laura Ingalls Wilder had still been alive and active. Based on her political bent she might have been on the side of the railroad.

This will be the third, right?

Yes, 1974, 2005, plus two incredibly rotten TV movies redeemed only by Richard Thomas as Pa.
