I must admit I wondered the same thing. For a film set “generations” after the last one, I thought her clothing was incredibly well tailored and in remarkable condition. I guess humans could find clothing in an abandoned shopping centre, but surely after a centuries there would be a bit more deterioration.
I can see why they chose the costume as opposed to the more realistic rags or animal furs though, the male gaze is important to get bums on seats, and they would be dumb not to highlight Freya Allan’s assets.
Hopefully the hurricane doesn’t drag on like the ceremony.
I expected to have the same reaction as you, I mean how high can expectations be for a fourth instalment in a franchise? I actually had the opposite reaction though, I thought it was a very effective continuation of the saga. I thought the character development was just as good as the earlier films and the pacing didn’t bother me either, I wasn’t bored for a minute. For me Noa’s character arc was emotionally involving, I was cheering for that chimp by the end! To be honest I found it to be the most entertaining instalment with exception of Rise.. which is still my top reboot film of all time.
