Me too. I rank them Alien Alien 3 Aliens Prometheus Alien Covenant Alien Resurrection Amen :-) I played Aliens: Fireteam Elite (2021) some days ago and was suprised that they mentioned the "x"in xeno. That they dont know how aliens would look like in its original form. The game is tedious and boring, but that was something. I think most people think that the Alien we see is the orginal form. That it would look like that no matter where one found them. Yeah. I have had disc holders (those plastic things in the middle of the disc) break. So every time I take the caser I can hear the disc jangling inside. But I dont agree with you on special feuteress. If one just want the film, why cant one just stream them? The disc should be an event. Mostly one just watch the movie, but there should be trailers, audio commentaries, interviews with cast and crew... For the specially interested. If its a HD release perhaps see the work they put into making the old movie look new. etc. Its been years since I saw any special features, but is nice to be able to. And AT LEAST an interactive menu. I dont understand why that is rarer and rarer on blu ray. It looks so cheap. Just bought some Norwegian classics on Blu-ray, and a steel box Killer Clowns from Outer Space. If I buy movies now they ought to be rare, or steelbox and have lots of extras. I bought some cheap blu-rays in a store a while back. Completely vanilla. No extras and the image quality on the main movie wasnt all that good either. I was on IMDb yes. I miss it. This is an okay replacement, but the energy is a bit lower here I think. Also I think a little bit om an improvement would have been nice to. Not much, just some tweeks. Like like buttons on comments one likes. Better profile customisation. But I guess this is fine... And if they do "improve" on this forum its probably gonna be more censorship or something like that. Christ is King x2 Are you stalking me? How nice. Yes, I did notice that a evil character in Resident Evil - Final Chapter was suddenly overtly christian that was never established before. To quote the future Snow White Rachel Zegler ""Weird? Weird." I noticed the original post, but was surprised to see more people joined. The reason why I didnt reply is that I felt the comment was a mix between sealioning and emperors new cloth. We all know what the message is and we can all see it in Pop-Culture. The message was NOT (as much) in older entertainment and art. Its been mostly in entertainment the last 10 years or so. I feel its degrading to talk about the specifics to be honest with you. I talk about the message of doctor who here though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIOngN3q3fY Because I couldnt understand why one of the shows who has had "the message" from the very beginning (of the new run) suddenly became too much and I point out some of the message of that show. Same goes with Fallout series. The games, which I have played ALL of, do not have that "message". At least not in an annoying overtly way. Oh, there is a message. But I would guess you are 14 years old and therefor dont remember a time when the message wasnt everywhere. It was about 5-10 years ago. But the point that you jumped over was: Retro futurism makes the "they wouldnt have done that in the 1950s" a valid statmenet even though the show is suppose to be in 2077 or even later than that. Yeah. I said to my wife. Is it a comedy now? I am amazed how people can stand all this distracting BS. "You seem to have been infected by the cinephile bug." So have you as you are on a MOVIE FORUM! That is 101 cinephile of any kind. You are just one of those smug besserwissers who think you are above it. Stating something is overrated without explaining WHY is a lazy and stupid. "Feel free to call movies you dislike masterpieces because other people like them." A good movie is judged by MORE than its entertainment value. Its also judged by: themes, innovation in cinematography (film history), actors skills etc. Although I dont like Citizen Kane I get why it was good when it came out. I acknowledge that the movie had some brilliant cinematography uses, interesting themes of psychology and humanity. Woke is a term like "political correct" to describe certain modern tropes in movies that is not put in there for artistic reasons but because it is the "current thing". It has happened slowly, but accelerated. A certain amount I guess has always been in the "liberal art". You could argue that "12 angry men" is woke. Isn´t it about bigotry in people against blacks? How only one man looks beyond the skin colour. But people dont complain about that. Or How to Kill a Mocking Bird. These movies are "woke" but we dont call them woke, as woke is a negative term. Woke now is forcing ideas and themes into movies, with "too on the nose" commentary on social issues that isnt uniting people but polarize. Its unnatural overrepresentation of minorities racial, sexual or "other" into everything. And when did that begin? Around 2015 I think. The first time I felt annoyed by it was on the first season of Doctor Who (2005). From the very first scene I felt that the creators were forcing ideas into the story and as I watched episode after episode it became clear it was almost a fetish. But by 2015 I think it was in EVERYTHING. So is a forum basically just hating on movies? Blair Witch Project was a masterpiece. If one didnt like it, fine. But it is. Its kind of movie canon. I am not a fan of citizen kane. I think its boring and long. Yet I know its a masterpiece and I dont go on Movie chat Citizen Kane and say "Its such an overrated movie. IT ISNT EVEN IN COLOR!!!" (that was a joke). Blair Witch Project is good. I remember watching it in cinema (yes, I am that old) and walking home still feeling the movie. That hasnt happened a lot. The trailer ruined it for me. I did like the member berries but ... not much else. It looks so cheap. Expensive actors, and cheap effects. ´member when Trump wanted to have strong bordercontrol towards china and Nancy Pelousi wanted to start hugging chinese people to show she wasnt a racist? AndyAce remembers. Trump came with lots of solutions to the pandemic that was activly worked against him. The insane world we live in the left refused to take the vax when Trump was behind it, but wanted to have mandatory vaccines as soon as they were in power. AndyAce remembers. I am so tired of people having this black and white world view. I am not a huge Trump fan. I find him kind of a blowheart, a bit vulgar, but he was so much better than the last four years. The last four years have been so hard, so sad. Oh, please come back Trump. No more "Build back better", "Agenda 2030" and WEF. No more wars. I am just so tired. I was so tired of the four years of screaming from the left when Trump won. I almost wanted Biden to win so they could shut the h-ll up!!! FOUR YEARS OF MENTAL BREAK DOWN!!! But the next 4 years was so much worse... UPDATE: I started again with the same character.. Grinded myself up some levels. Have all kinds of power-ups, armour, staffs of all kinds. Still an EXTREME hassel to get trough. "Git gud" I expect, but seriously... I dont understand this game. What is it I am doing wrong? I try web, staff of fire, staff of monster summoning, speed spell, holy battle... and then I die. Hmmm... Maybe Ill take a gander at that book ;-) A bit expensive though :-( But I think I know a little bit the comics interpretation of them being a elephant like creature and its still humanoid. What I like about alien is that it has an X to its form. the Xenomorph was a hybrid between something X (that came from the facehugger) and human (Kane). Therefor it walked on to legs, and had human like shape. BUT that was because it was part human. How the xenoes looked like in their original shape could be anything (if it even has an original shape. Perhaps the facehuggers are as close as they get? But what produced those eggs? Yeah, it may be cocooning).) So what I would be looking for in a Space joykey would be something otherworldly. I see others have mentioned it here, but I guess I shall to, a bit of lovecraftian "what the hell is that?!" type thing. The problem with that is that often it can become unintentional comedic, right? Like the spaceguild thing in Lynch´s Dune. Its both otherwordly, gross, terrifying and comedic at the same time. But I think I would have prefered something unintentionally comedic that had some ounce of orginality, than albino humans. Its also called "the pilot".
