I have a lot of childhood memories of Service Merchandise when my parents would take me and my brothers.
Same here. That picture someone took from ground level of the iconic toys waving goodbye to a Toys R Us storefront tore me up a little.

What's 'selfish' about believing in second chances and redemption?

Nothing at all. The problem lies in sticking around and accepting mistreatment with the mistaken notion that by hanging in there long enough for the rough ride, the other person will change.
I do think people without personality disorders are capable of change, but my opinion has been informed by personality disordered people who do not change and destroy a long line of people in their paths.
Yes, it is true. So this begs the question why do people see what is revealed the first time, but they go back for seconds, thirds, and more? Do we not trust our intuition? Do we not want to seem rude? Do we believe that everybody will have a Hollywood style redemption who needs one? Do we selfishly want to be the reason for said redemption?
I've not seen much of her acting, but she seems nice and down-to-earth. I do notice that sometimes her voice slips into a vocal fry which is not my ears' favorite thing.

Brilliant! You are correct. Who would've thought that being tame is now an act of rebellion.

Steep learning curve
People use this to indicate something is difficult to learn and master, but it means that a learner makes gains in a short period of time.
I've seen her in several things and agree she's compelling. I love her voice! So unique!
I have never heard of or seen the Lander Blue turquoise. Distinctive! Thank you for sharing this information.
I will certainly do that. She has some serious pieces. I remember a squash blossom necklace she would wear that stole every show.
Hilary Duff has that same wholesome, innocent beauty like Dolly. There's something intangible those two have, and it comes across their faces. There are plenty of beautiful women in the world, but they lack that. Paige falls in that group in my opinion.
I think mid to late 1970s (her early 30s) Dolly is her prime. She was off the charts with her physical beauty in that insulting Barbara Walters interview in 1977. She came across as composed and classy too. I admire the smiling jujutsu Dolly performed on Baba Wawa who came across as classist, patronising, and rude.
Edited to add that I will look up that 60 Minutes interview you mentioned. Thanks for the heads up.
I agree. In the craziness we deal with now, he would be dragged through media mud for months for this, and I also agree it would be disgusting and sad. He was clearly smitten with her. That was obvious every time she appeared on his show.
Side note....I do think there was so much focus put on her boobs that people lost sight of the fact she had one of the most exquisitely beautiful faces in show business.
