It is not both.

In the second film he was a deeper more brooding character.

He broods as much as he ever did in F2.

Now he’s just a buffoon.

He was always a hungry buffoon.

he was also Brian’s friend

This is not a change in personality.

he joined to get end his probation

This has nothing to do with personality.

So, he was a little deeper.

Being Brian's friend doesn't make him deeper. And he still is Brian's friend.
Yep. I mean, this whole recent noise all erupted from a hannibal buress stand up routine. And then the internet ran away with that.
Some women are friends with married men. There's a thing called friendship.
I mean, Genesys is better than Salvation and Dark Fate, so I think that's fair.
At this point, I think it's clear that only T1 is canon. Everything else is an AU from that lol
That's more of his role in the plot, not his character itself though.
sorry. didn't give a fuck.
I think many finer actors would probably feel the same way, but no one's gonna come out and be so blunt.
Nice, a man of culture.
Another person who recognizes that the terminator franchise was irrevocably altered at T2. T2's a great movie, but at the end of the day, T1 was a more coherent, better constructed film. T2 was popcorn fare.
I doubt if it's sour grapes. As you said, he has an opinion, and he's just dgaf enough to say it.
I think that's also why he IS embarrassed for her because she could certainly do better.
Ah, not a fan of The Invisible Man, or are you just disappointed to have lost the pulpy, family-friendliness?
The officer told him to eat at a diner thirty something miles away.
He didn't drive him there. He just let him off on the outskirts of town.
That's not giving Rambo a chance. In fact, it's not even appropriate that the cop basically kicked him out of town for no reason either. He has no right to make him leave like that. He wasn't even loitering around a building. He was walking.
I'm vaguely aware of the oompa loompa slave reading, but haven't heard that about The Little Mermaid. Not surprised with that though lol. And it's like, as you said, the argument may be sound. If a person wishes to interpret a movie or a book in this way, and offer up the textual evidence for it, then so be it.
But that's just an interpretation. It's not really fair to go at these movies with this english-class mentality, and yet simultaneously have the audacity to make these objective claims/criticisms. No one writes an elaborate analysis of a movie and its subtext, and then claim that that IS the one true, factual perspective.
Exactly. It's just another iteration of a universal monster, and it's not particularly fair to hold it up to the 1999 one. Yeah, it's crazy that it made so much money...but not ENOUGH money lol. In these superhero-obsessed film market right now, I thought it was a nice contender, but alas, we'll never see that epic dark universe crossover.
Tyrese was still very much a comic relief character in F2. I don't think he's changed significantly at all.
This. lol. losers.
I can't tell anymore if people are being serious or just joking when they use the term "plot hole" incorrectly like this.
Depending on which Bond movies you prefer, it sounds like you enjoy very stylized action films.
Live Free or Die Hard is an excellent action movie, and a great followup/tribute/sequel to the original trilogy. But it's also substantively a different type of movie.
I don't think it's fair for you to imply that nostalgia is what binds people to this film. It's just not your type of action movie. I think OP is insane to even ask the following

what the heck is there to talk about this old, cliche, and just a simple action movie any more

I love horror movies, but I have no interest in the saw films myself. It doesn't mean I'm going to find it so bizarre that other people enjoy it and have a lot to talk about it.
lmao have you seen the It's Always Sunny skit where Mac was upset he didn't get blown?
