Omg, I completely forgot about him. Didn't care for his character. Don't know why they gave him such a "bigger" role compared to the first one. Oh right, nepotism. Unnecessary character
I liked 2 things in this more than the first one. Firstly, The Villain. Thought Ego was a better antagonist than Ronan. And secondly, the development of both Yondu & Nebula. Did NOT care for them in the first film.
But as a whole, the first film, which I rewatched last night, is far superior than this.
This genuinely blew me away. Was not familiar with the characters going in. I only saw like one trailer for it. My expectations were pretty mild
Turned out to be a wonderful surprise. Good soundtrack, great visuals. A very good balance between humor, drama & action. Even if you're not a superhero fan, it's Just a great sci-fi film.
THANK YOU! I know I'm replying to a 3 year old post but I don't care. lol
I genuinely agree with you, wholeheartedly.
The first film had a really good balance. They knew when to cut a joke & where to put a joke. This was just an overload & just painfully unfunny most times.
You know like when they "overdo a gag" on Family Guy "for laughs". The jokes on this felt like that
Well, all the Disney+ Marvel shows are getting MCU movie level budgets
But it's ok. She was grieving. C'mon man, She had to say goodbye to her imaginary family. Those would never understand what she had to give up.
Same vibes as, it's ok, the villain has a kid. That makes his actions ok. Cause he loves his kid
But seriously though, The residents of WestView are gonna need therapy for like the rest of their lifetime.
Same. I'm just not a sitcom guy. And most of the sitcoms they're homaging & stuff for the past 5 episodes or so were before my time.
So I don't really have an appreciation for them or anything like that
I agree. Good points. That's honestly one of the main reasons that I disliked the finale's fight & eventual "Sky Battle" between Wanda & Agatha. Cause that felt very formulaic.
And as you rightfully said, this show was very unique & creative. Wish they did something new & fresh with the eventual confrontation.
Like with the finale of Doctor Strange. Where he "bargains" with Dormammu. That was creative and I freaking loved it. One of my absolute favorite finales.
He was definitely a dick from the start and seemed like someone with a hidden agenda but that took a turn in the finale.
They basically turned him into a generic, cartoonish villain. That finale just felt super rushed. Like hey, this guy was super evil & we're sending him to prison
Like another commenter pointed out... they probably just wanted a super villain to take the heat away from Wanda. Like, it was him all along
She created a fantasyland & decided that the people were happier there. She took a look at 'me & decided she knew what was best.
She threw Monica way outta the barrier, not knowing what that'll do. She almost hit her on the ground not knowing she had powers.
Yeah, like I said. Anyone else with Wanda's actions would be a villain right now. No question about that
Wanda had control over the Hex. She might not have remembered how it started but she knew she could take it down IF she wanted to.
She could've let the people out but chose not to. She basically "imprisoned" them. There were no kids until Vision asked. She knowingly increased the hex &'trapped countless other characters
But she gets a pass because she was grieving. If Agatha was the one doing everything, people would be branding her a super villain & asking her to be imprisoned & sh*t
Also, Hayward seemed like someone with an agenda from a few episodes back but in the finale, they basically made him a generic, downright cartoonish villain
Fan service? Yeah, I'll take it. 😅
Also, I don't know if you're a Harry Potter fan but the final battle between Dumbledore vs Voldemort at the end of "The Order of the Phoenix" was rather amazing. I watch it on YouTube from time to time
I just love any show or film that fully does the magic spectacle in action. I fanboy so hard at that kind of stuff. Instead of the usual wand vs wand or energy beam pew pew pew sh*t
That sh*t is uninspiring & disappointing. Especially for a freaking magic fight
The show had been unique in it's own right but that fight was honestly super generic. Two people just floating, going pew pew pew. lol
The Doctor Strange v Thanos fight in Infinity War lasted like 40 seconds but it's one of the best & most memorable battles in all the Superhero movies
They did some awesome, unique stuff with Strange's magical abilities
With the exception of the Agatha v Wanda fight, which I found to be underwhelming, pretty solid finale all around
I mean they're 2 super powerful beings & all we got was 2 people throwing "energy/magic beams" at each other. With their power set, was expecting something just a lil bit more epic or at least more memorable than that. Oh well...
I liked the Vision v Vision stuff though.
And Wanda's new outfit looks dope. Can't wait for Multiverse of Madness
Yeah. Season 2 is expected this spring.
Honestly, I rarely watch Network tv anymore. But Evil was a nice surprise. And the shorter season is something I like
I kinda figured after the first trailer. It's basically their go-to genre
The only show I currently watch on CBS is Evil. Which doesn't even feel like a CBS show. Which is a good thing.
I feel the same way about the last 3-5 years of my life. There was a bunch of stuff I wanted to do/accomplish before I hit 30 but didn't. But I can be a lazy, unproductive bastard sometimes. 😅
Oh yes, Longmire was top notch. Watched it cause I've liked Katee Sackhoff since Battlestar Galactica. And I ended up enjoying the show way more than I thought I would.
Also, speaking of modern westerns, don't know if you've seen Justified. Excellent show. Highly underrated.
I didn't enjoy Mank as much as I thought I would. But since Mindhunter is cancelled... he's getting to work on films again. So that's great
