THANK YOU! I literally just watched it a few hours ago and it's been bugging me! Like I genuinely knew that it all seemed & felt familiar but I just couldn't tell why. Apparently, The Affleck solo film was gonna be the "darkest Batman film yet". After Deathstroke finds out Batman's identity, he starts killing everyone close to him & all that. I would've LOVED to see a Batfleck v Deathstroke fight. Would've been beyond epic!! Fair enough. I'm not sh*tting on that kinda music, it's just not my thing Plus, it wouldn't be "confusing" since they're doing the whole Multiverse thing Firstly, the creative control bit, I meant like a solo film. Not the whole franchise. Like with James Gunn & The Suicide Squad. Like give a director & their writing partner a Lobo, Booster Gold or Vixen solo film & let them do their thing And With the Blade thing, bums me out that it's probably gonna be PG13 Cause when Feige was asked, now that Deadpool is gonna be Rated R, are there any plans for other characters/MCU films to follow suit and he said No. Snyder Cut: 8.5 Whedon Cut: 4.5 Yeah, the "beloved" BBC "Sherlock" made Watson a walking talking idiot. His main purpose was to basically fangirl & be wowed by Sherlock's genius. That's all. One of the things I liked about the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes films is that Dr Watson was actually written & portrayed as smart person . His Doctor skills were evident & he was pretty good at deduction. Only surpassed by Sherlock of course. Oh yeah, her "new theme" got old pretty fast. Like for real... Do the dark & realistic sh*t but change it up a bit. Not every one of them has to be so colorless and depressing. Exactly. When every one of his films are as dreary, it gets pretty depressing. When a film with 3 of the most iconic fictional characters around can't even make a billion, you know you done fu*cked up. Like c'mon, with the exception of Spider-Man, I genuinely can't think of a Superhero character who's that well known. Even people who've never read a comic know who Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman are. Also, as I just said this on another post I made, why in the actual f*ck does everything he makes about these characters have to be so dreary. I feel depressed watching BvS. I'm NOT saying they have to be like the MCU. Not in any way. But c'mon. The comics are fun, weird & fantastical. Why would you wanna make them depressing & realistic? DC's animated department have made some of the darkest Superhero movies around & they're hella fun to watch. I just wrote this in another reply but they really should widen their net when it comes to film nominations. Cause there are a lot of good films released throughout the year but like over 90% of the nominees are the ones that only get released within 2 or 3 months before the Oscars. But then again, you knew kinda have to spend MILLIONS to campaign for a nomination. Something I didn't know until recently. Apparently the voters get gifts, get flown to luxurious places & stay in fancy hotels. They get to meet the celebrities. Depending on how much the studio is willing to spendSame with the Golden Globes. You're basically "buying your award" it seems. I remember Like 2 or 3 years ago, in a bid to stay more relevant. they tried to add a "most popular movie" category and everyone just laughed at them and they dropped it. I guess even The Oscars kinda realized that the films that they're nominating nowadays aren't really THAT popular or most people don't necessarily care about them anymore I definitely agree with Star Power. That's definitely a thing of the past. Now it's the age of franchises and popular IPs. Also, I remember growing up in the early to mid 2000s and people would make such a HUGE deal out of an Oscar nominated/winning films. Especially when recommending it to someone. "You know, this movie was actually nominated for an OSCAR" and you were supposed to immediately think that, that actually means something special. But I honestly didn't get it back then. Mostly cause I was a teen & liked films with pew pew pew & explosions. 😅 With the whole they "don't deserve to be nominated" debate, I'm not one to say whether or not they do but looking at the past few years' best picture nominees, With the exception of one or two, I honestly find myself not caring for most of them. I genuinely can't believe Green Book was nominated and even won. That was one of the most predictable & oscar bait-ist films I've ep seen in recent years. Also, I don't know if you agree with this or not but they should REALLY widen their net. Cause there are a lot of better films released throughout the year. Not just the ones getting released at the end of the year. The "Oscar baits" if you will I just recently found out that she never won. I was genuinely surprised. She's just one of those great actors that you just assume has already won. At least once or twice. You know what I mean? Anyways, to answer your question, she definitely should've won for Fatal Attraction & recently The Wife. My friends who've read the books & stuff keep saying this & I completely agree, it should have been 2 movies max. But you know Peter Jackson, love the dude but he unnecessarily loves to drag sh*t out. By the third film, I genuinely didn't even care anymore. I just kept looking at my watch, hoping someone would put me outta my misery. lol I'm gonna be honest, didn't care for any of the characters in The Hobbit trilogy. Maybe Smaug. Yeah, I was rooting for Smaug. 😅 I mean that's a pretty LOW BAR to clear. But yeah, I agree
